| Razz05-13-07, 09:23 PM | I need some clarification on some deities known to exist in the Realms that I've recently come upon during my research. Ilxendren I've found out from 2E Demihuman Deities and the Blood Queen from the same place and the fact that an aboleth cleric in the book 3E Underdark has her as its patron deity: ILXENDREN The deity of ixzan, I assume. Anyone know which book contains more detail on this deity? THE BLOOD QUEEN aka PISCAETHCES Mother of the aboleths, again, which book has the most detail on her besides Lords of Madness? (from any edition) MAK THUUM NGATHA I found an old thread in this forum where ripvanwormer mentioned this deity. I've never heard of it and it's apparently the deity of the opening of infinite knowledge, the destruction of barriers, and the spanning of space and time. Far Realm. I don't think this guy is official Realms at all? KORIEL An ally of Aerdrie Faenya, also need to know where to find more information on this one. |
| The Ubbergeek05-13-07, 11:11 PM | Mak may be a local name for Aoskar, the famous dead god of Planescape.... the one killed by the Lady of Pain. |
| Old Sage05-13-07, 11:43 PM | Ilxendren was detailed in the Night Below module, as I recall. Sources for Koriel include On Hallowed Ground and Monster Mythology. Mak Thuum Ngatha was primarily detailed in Lords of Madness. The Blood Queen may have also been from Night Below... I don't immediately remember, as it's been a while since I've looked over that book. |
| Razz05-19-07, 03:52 PM | Thanks. Can anyone help me find info on the lizardfolk deity Essyliss? The deity is officially in the Realms considering it was mentioned in Cormyr: The Tearing of the Weave as the patron deity of a lizardfolk shaman in the adventure. EDIT: Nevermind on this one, also. Found it in Serpent Kingdoms |
| Razz05-19-07, 03:52 PM | Mak Thuum Ngatha was primarily detailed in Lords of Madness. Do you know where? I haven't found it as of yet in that book. EDIT: Nevermind, found it in Chapter 9. Thanks. |
| Shemeska the Marauder05-20-07, 03:12 AM | ILXENDREN The deity of ixzan, I assume. Anyone know which book contains more detail on this deity? According to Planewalker's Gods List, the only source is in the 'Night Below', and nothing else beyond that. I'm certainly not aware of anything else on my own. MAK THUUM NGATHA I found an old thread in this forum where ripvanwormer mentioned this deity. I've never heard of it and it's apparently the deity of the opening of infinite knowledge, the destruction of barriers, and the spanning of space and time. Far Realm. I don't think this guy is official Realms at all? He's the primary patron deity of the Psurlons, and the original 2e writeup of the Psurlons doesn't mention him, so presumably he originates in 'Lords of Madness'. Not necessarily Far Realms, as the Psurlon themselves are originally from the prime material and are transplants to the Astral much like the githyanki. However they might have picked his patronage up after that migration, and his origin might be quite different from theirs (don't have LoM handy to check if his origin is spelled out firmly). |
| ripvanwormer05-20-07, 01:29 PM | Lords of Madness connects Mak Thuum Ngatha to the nilshai, from Unapproachable East, so in that sense the Nine-Tongued Worm seems to be a Realms deity. Mak Thuum Ngatha is explicitly an entity of the Far Realm (Lords of Madness, page 165, 177). I think the psurlons probably worshiped it on their home world, and it was the being who inspired them to attempt the experiment that destroyed it. |
