daimyotx 09-21-07, 08:43 AM	i believe it was explained some in the Netheril boxed set - Lost Empires of Faerun expanded this knowledge some more It was also nice seeing how many times various scrolls were stolen throughout the Grand History of the Realms.
customdrapery 09-21-07, 09:30 AM	The Nether Scrolls were created by the Sarrukh as the "Golden Skins of the World Serpent." They were created by a group called the Bae'tith, which collected magical knowledge from all known sources. This was mentioned in both "Serpent Kingdoms" and aGHotR. Hope that helps.

customdrapery 09-21-07, 03:12 PM	Serpent Kingdoms is a decent book. Before that book came out I was always wondering who/what created the Nether Scrolls. I was toying with theories involving Mystryl or other deities. I like it better that some earlier civilization created them for a distinct reason, not just to provide Netheril with all sorts of magical knowledge. Plus, they finished them in like -34000 (ca.) (My GHotR is at home).
Gemcaster 09-23-07, 03:52 AM	I allways theorised it was made by one of the fiendish races (either yugoloths or archdevils) because their effects on faerun spread some serious corruption, chaos and missery (eventually).
