| YellowWall01-18-08, 02:34 PM | Which 30 FR Gods do want to see in 4th ed Realms? My List: Chauntea, God of Farmers & Agriculture Oghma, God of Knowledge Silvanus, God of Nature Sune, God of Love Tyche, God of Fortune Amaunator, God of the Sun & Law Torm, God of Protection, Loyality & Honor Ilmater, God of martyrdom, suffering & endurance Lathander, God of Renewal Selune, God of the Moon Shar, God of the Night, Loss & Shadow Bane, God of Tyranny & Strenght Cyric, Banned God of Intrigue, Lies & Murder Bahamut, God of metallic Dragons Tiamat, God of chromatic Dragons Waukeen, God of Trade Malar, God of Beasts Kelemvor, God of the Dead & Death Kossuth, God of Fire Istishia, God of Oceans, Sea & Water Grumbar, God of Earth Akadi, God of the Wind Auril, God of Winter Moradin, God of Dwarves & Crafters Corellon Larethian, God of Elves & Magic Lolth, God of Drow & Spiders Eilistraee, God of Beauty, Dance & Rebels |
| MarkusTay6301-18-08, 05:46 PM | Mine: Gaeia Thor (Crom) Ki Set Chronepsis Mitra Aries Demeter Anu (played like Bane) Erebus Hecate Oghma Loviatar Valkur Typhoon Auril Xiombarg Arioch Donblas Ra Herne/ The Wild Huntsmen Mercury Hades Mellifleur Panzuriel Mab, as the Queen of Air and Darkness Kakatal (Kossuth) Istishia Grome (Grumbar) Akadi (more like Fileet) If I had to have thirty, those would be the ones that I would want. As you can see, very few of them are currently Realms deities. ;) |
| Lord Karsus01-19-08, 02:17 AM | Mine: Everything that currently exists. There's too much diversity everywhere to limit things to just 30 deities. :pbbbtt: |
| MarkusTay6301-19-08, 02:30 AM | Absolutely, but the OP wanted to know which 30 we would want, if we could only have 30. And BTW - every god on that list exists in my Realms, in some form, and they'tre NOT going anywhere. :P |
| Keryth01-22-08, 12:41 PM | Mine: Everything that currently exists. There's too much diversity everywhere to limit things to just 30 deities. :pbbbtt: I agree Or, to put it in a language the Design Team will understand with their fixation on MMORPGs...QFT |

| Khaelieth01-22-08, 01:38 PM | Anu Good thing gods aren't generally pluralised. |
| Lord Karsus01-22-08, 01:49 PM | Good thing gods aren't generally pluralised. -Ha ha! Ha ha ha! |

| Charles Phipps01-28-08, 06:58 PM | Charles 30 Gods and the Rationales 1. Lathander The Morninglord/Corellon Lantheon: Combined deity. Basically, if they want to emphasize Corellon as a major power worshiped by Everyone, why not combine him with the God of Good that's known to be an awesome power with many Elvish Qualities? It would also explain why God Elves are such :censored: This is already canon in my games. 2. Selune/Sehaine: Combined Deity. Like the above, Selune and Sehaine were always the same power but neither side predominates. She was known as Selune to Humans just as long as she was known as Sehaine to the Elves. She's one of the Elder Gods along with Lathander. 3. Sune/Hanelli: Combined Deity. Because they're both Aphrodite and love to mess with their human worshipers. Really, there wouldn't be that much change from this. Also, I think she makes a better Inanna than Isis does over in Unther. This is already canon in my games. 4. Gruumsh/Talos/Garagos: Combined Deity. Basically, Talos has always been a face of Gruumsh just like Lathander and Sehaine. However, it was Talos that arranged for his people on another world to be brought into the Forgotten Realms from other lands. I figure Talos can finish off Garagos and take his meager portfolios. 5. Moradin Just because Dwarves have to have a God. 6. Silvanus Mostly because the Ancient God of Nature is such an archetypal presence that you can't really do otherwise. 7. Tyr the Justice Bringer/Bahamut/Ubatao: Now this is going to be a controversial mixing but I like the idea that Tyr has been here from the very beginning. I also like the idea that he's widely different amongst other races in form but is still the wise patriarch type of character. It also makes him a mortal enemy of Shar. I'd have the new Tyr/Ubato destroy Eshowdow in the change over. 8. Torm/Nobanion: Combined Deity Torm was always Aslan, we just never knew it. 9. Mask/Vhaeraun: Combined Deity Mostly because of similiarity of their portfolios. I know it'd never happen but why NOT have the guy under the Mask be another God of thieves. 10. Mielikki/Lurue/Eilistraee: Combined Deity. I just love the idea that Eilistraee has always been the same Goddess that Drizzt has been worshiping just as Lurue the Unicorn is just another form of her. Since Mielikki is already part of the pantheon of the Seldarine and they're both Huntresses, why not? 11. Lolth: Cause Lolth is a classic and we can't change a thing. 12. Talona/Beshaba/Loviatar Combined Deity Might be a strange choice to merge this two but the idea of Beshaba being the Goddess of Bad Luck, Poison, Pain, Disease, and other Ailment's attractive side while Talona is the monstrous just works for me. I tend to think they all just fought it out one day and no one has any real idea of who won. 13. Kelemvor/Ilmater Portfolio Assumption Because Kelemvor is awesome. I'd love him to take over Ilmater's ROLE as the God of Suffering and Healing, though, while keeping his LN alignment. Ilmater, frankly, just doesn't have a big enough role for me and I'd like to see him leave the Realms. 14. Azuth: Cause Elminster and the eggheads need a God. 15. Cyric/Gra'azt/Gargauth (Combination) Really, mostly, because you need a Chaotic Evil God. Why combine him with these deities? Mostly, because Cyric can gain the evil tempter portfolio. I figure that he more or less just assumes their roles and became a lot smarter afterwards. 16. Bane Cause he's the God :censored: Baneman. 17. Umberlee: Cause she's the Sea :censored: and we need those for Pirates of the Carribean to imprison. 18. Mystra: Because. :-) 19. Shar/Tiamat Bizarre combination but I think that Shar and Tiamat have more in common than one thinks. They could definitely combine and form a Takhasis like character that is opposed to the role of Tyr and company. Also, there's the fact you can give Shar some nifty dragon themes. 20. Tymora Because Tymora is awesome. 21. Llirra/Eldath: Why not? I like the idea that Eldath can let her hair down and is the God of everything that we know and love about the world. 22. Hoar/Shevarash: Combined Deity Two very small deities overall but Hoar and Shevarash are the Gods of Revenge. Dammit if they don't work good for that role. 23. Oghma Cause he's Oghmaish. 24. Finder/Milil: Combined Deity Cause really Finder is a better God of Music than Milil. I like the fact that he manages to move up in the world and I think that Finder would assume the portfolio of Milil with full willingness of that god. Perhaps Finder even won it in a music contest. 25. Tempus: Tempus is Tempus. 26. Red Knight/Siamorphe: Merged Deity I think that Siamorphe could definitely cede her portfolio to Red Knight and she could become the Patron Deity of Tethyr. Plus, all of Helm's portfolios could go to her and she could become a new Greater Goddess. It would help the Realms with a new Strong Female Deity. 27. Gond: Gnomes need a God of Mad explosions. 28. Chauntaea/Yondalla: Because she's Mom. 29. Shaundukul/Garl Glittergold: Go Gnomes! 30. Set Mostly, because Set can take over Mulhorandi and become more like Ed's home campaign. Also, they'll supply the Red Wizards of Thay with their own deities. Couple of points 1. The Elemental "Gods" are now Primordials. 2. Orcus is still in the Realms as a Demon Lord. 3. So is Ghaundaur. 4. So is Asmodeus and the Lords of the Nine as Devils. So, anyone I'm missing in my Super-Campaign Mold? |
| sckeener01-30-08, 01:12 PM | I can understand why WotC wants to limit the gods down, but for my game I want to add gods in...personally I'd like the full Egyptian & Sumerian pantheon...I'd like to add in goddess like Sehkmet (and I have in my own game) mulhorand: Anhur Hathor Set Horus-Re Osiris Sobek Bast/Sharress Isis Geb Nephthys Thoth Unther(pipe dream since it is toast) Enlil Gebakotep (Geb) Gilgeam Hathelya (Hathor) Hokatep (Horus-Re) Ishtar (Isis) Neselthia (Nephthys) Ozrikotep (Osiris) Ramman/Rumathep (Anhur) Thalatos (Thoth) Tiamat Typhon (Set) rest of the Realms Assuran Gruumsh Sekolah Sseth Bahamut Hoar Selūne Sune Chauntea Mystra Shar Tempus Gond Sharess Umberlee |
| Miryana01-30-08, 02:55 PM | I wouldn't want to remove any deities, but if I have to choose 30: * Bane * Chauntea * Cyric * Kelemvor * Lathander * Mystra * Oghma * Shar * Silvanus * Sune * Talos * Tempus * Tyr * Beshaba * Helm * Ilmater * Lolth * Mielikki * Selūne * Tymora * Umberlee * Azuth * Malar * Mask * Tiamat * Torm * Waukeen * Moradin * Corellon * Yondalla |
| Skyrocket01-30-08, 07:37 PM | I just don't want the elemental gods to go anywhere. It's never sat well with me that only one is a major god. I mean, they're being worshiped by most of the beings tied to their element *and* they're the top dogs of a whole plane. That says major deity to me. :hoppingma |

| Jiggawha02-03-08, 06:13 AM | I don't like what they're doing with religions, but without choice it would be something like this: (first off, Ao is dead, never liked the idea, universe stagnates with Ao) Gods (only avatar stats briefly mentioned) Humans 1. Finder Wyvernspur – cycle of life & death, nature, time demigods: Lathander, Chauntea, Mielikki, Auril – year Kelemvor Talona (plus rot) 2. Deneir – knowledge, fate, inspiration, runes, psionics demigods: Auppenser Azuth – magister-like role 3. Shaundakul – freedom, trade, travel, adventure, exploration demigods: Waukeen Gwaeron Windstrom Valkur 4. Sune – love, passion demigods: Sharress/Bast Lliira Eldath 5. Gond – invention, creativity, arts, craft, work demigods: Milil 6. Mask – thievery, greed, shadowfel 7. Lady Luck – ''two sides of the coin'' entity, like Demogorgon in a way but different 8. Ilmater – protection, endurance, suffering, perseverance, unselfishness demigods: Torm – more interesting being directly involved 9. Bane – oppression, tyranny, hatred, fear, imprisonment demigods: Talos (doesn't exactly serve, Bane lets him loose as a lesson) Tempus (same as Talos, different means, war) Malar (the same, tough Malar is a primordial beast monstrosity, Bane has diffuculties with it) Umberlee (the same, sea) Loviatar 10. Cyric – but something other, anomaly, rules don't apply to him demigods: Leira (til Cyric's imprisoned, then flees) Fey 11. Lolth 12. Corellon Larethian demigods: elven pantheon 13. Gruumsh – more like Tolkien's concept, corrupted fey demigods: orc pantheon Dragonkind 13. Tiamat demigods: Tchazzar Astilabor Task 14. Bahamut/Xymor – justice demigods: Lendys Tamara Hoar Uthgar Multiracial 15. Moradin/Grumbar/Etugen – earth, dwarves demigods: dwarven pantheon 16. Kossuth – fire, dragonborn demigods: Garyx (Apep) 17. Trishina/Itishia/Yondalla/Persana – water, halflings demigods: halfling pantheon Surminare 18. Annam/Akadi/Teylas – air, giants (Annam absorbed Akadi after the aeree defeat) demigods: giant pantheon Primordials (don't need to be worshipped) 19. Shar – nihilism, not involved in FR, Shar and Selune fight far behind the scenes 20. Selune - isn't opposed to other gods like other primordials, maybe she started the god-system Independent demigods (active like in greek pantheon, a bit above highest epic npcs) plus I'd invent a few dozen more (independent or not) Red Knight – on the rise with the fall of Tempus Garagos – conflicts with Tempus and Red Knight Ubtao – back in Chult Velsharoon – back in Bloodstone lands, conflicts with the cults of Orcus Jergal – abandons divinity, has other means, mysterious goals Ulutiu – sleeps Gargauth – the pit in Shaar, tieflings (small percent following) Nobanion – Shaar and Vilhon Reach, with all the threats to wemics and cats Fenmarel Mestarine – Shaar, Misty Vale Gnome pantheon Emmantiensien – treants Shiallia/Tappan – fey Lurue – fey Hlal/Avachel/Nthair Sgiathach – faerie dragons Aasterinian – dragons Chronepsis – dragons, fights Cult of the Dragon Sardior Monstrous demigods Psilofyr Shekinester Parrafaire Sseth/Merrshaulk/Varae Semuanya Vaprak Sekolah Blipdoolpoolp Eadro Diinkarazan Diirinka Kurtulmak Maglubiyet Panzuriel Sess'Innek Gorellik/Yeenoghu Archdevils Demon princes (except obyriths, primordials, same power) Celestial paragons Seelie court (except Titania and Queen, primordials, leshay) Primus Kexxon Bubonis Genie sultans Archomentals etc. Other primordials Great Mother Ilsensine Piscaethces Mysteries Asmodeus Lady of Pain The Dragon King Ghaunadaur (part of elder elemental god) Aurumachs Baernaloths Apomps Dendar etc. Dead/left Ao, Oghma, Silvanus, Siamorphe, Amaunator (hoax), Mulhorandi pantheon, Kereska, Zorquan |
