| nightside_samurai07-29-07, 11:35 PM | I was wondering if any of you knew what that first piece on the board is in the first book that Ellistraee captures thinking it's a slave. I thought maybe it was the Drow Wizard who is featured in the books or maybe it's Vhaerun, but I thought maybe someone would have another insight. I don't mind if you reference books later in the series to answer this, I just want to know for piece of mind. Thank you :) |

| Andyr07-31-07, 01:01 PM | I think it was Vhaeraun--that'd explain Eilistraee's surprise, as well as him vanishing from Lolth's side of the board. Although we'll have to see the next part of the novel series pans out, my theory is that Vhaeraun has merged (or at least sided with, for now) Eilistraee to better strike out against Lolth. |
| nightside_samurai07-31-07, 05:20 PM | That's what I thought as well but I kinda hope for it to be a permanent thing. Ellistrae was always one of my favorite deities but her only granting spells to women seemed unfair. Now she'll open up a whole new area of power for herself and for Drow males. She could end up very well off when all is said and done. |
| Ioulaum08-01-07, 11:17 PM | just read the sample chapter. V is now officially floating real estate in the astral. E really did cut him in half. |
| Andyr08-02-07, 04:06 PM | It seems you're right... That fact, coupled with the third book in the series being called 'Ascendency of the Last', suggests that we may be seeing more drow pantheon shakeups in the novel. I don't know how I feel about that, but will give them a read and see how she tells the story. :) In case anyone else is interested, I found the sample chapter here: http://www.o-love.net/realms/sam_lad.html |
| Ramenth08-03-07, 01:27 AM | I'm not so sure. It seems like El is a tad annoyed at the fate of her brother. I wouldn't be suprised to see him back by the end of the series with a more neutral alignment. Maybe something closer to Azuth for the Drow or somesuch. that is, of course, assuming El wins. |
| Ioulaum08-03-07, 11:19 AM | V might get bought back latter but currently at least form the prologue V is as dead as the other Astral Real Estate. Speaking of Astral Real Estate, i wonder if there is some sort of money back clause in Real Estate transaction in the Astral in the event that the dead gets ressurected. |
| Splarg08-09-07, 04:27 AM | LOLTH MUST NOT LOSE! Her upstart of a daughter must not be able to overthrow her, the drow need Lolth otherwise they're just not cool. (well they are but drow without lolth is just crazy) |
| MerrikCale08-13-07, 10:08 PM | Perhaps WOTC is trying put the realms in a more "core" position with the drow. If you read Drow of the Underdark, Lloth is the only game in town |
| Jax_Nightstalker08-17-07, 12:49 AM | The Dark Elves are my favorite characters in FR. Out of the Drow gods Lloth would be my favorite and E would be my least favorite. But I believe they both balance each other out. It would have been better if V was neutral to make things more interesting instead of Evil. Well the second book will be more interesting than the first book. V is dead and S is dead. That leaves 4 gods left in this game of Sava. |
