cervantes 72 06-07-07, 03:37 PM	ok so my group are wading through city of the spider queen one of em picks up a potion of sneaking and we cant find it anywhere in any books???? what benifits does it give???
CharlesCurtisStanley 06-07-07, 11:15 PM	Try Elixir of Sneaking, DMG p. 255. Why this is an elixir instead of a potion is a mystery to me, since the underlying spell (silence) is only 2nd level... :confused:
TomCosta 06-08-07, 03:15 PM	It was a "potion" in 3E, but in the transition to 3.5E any "potions" that did not directly correspond to a spell (and thus the potion creation rules), became "elixers" and wondrous items. That said, you could probably develop a spell to exactly mimic most of the "elixers" with little problem, thereby returning them to potions.
CharlesCurtisStanley 06-09-07, 04:30 PM	Okay, I can see the logic to that. The item's description cites the spell silence, but since this seems to be a highly specialized and restricted application of the spell, the change from "potion" to "elixir" is justified. Thanks for the explanation. :D
