| wollex08-03-07, 08:20 AM | Hi, we have a discussion about the Any Spell, here are our problems: a) Counts the spell granted by the any spell as an arcane spell or as a divine spell? b) Does arcane spell failure apply to this spell? c) The "Initiate of Mystra" feat gives you the opportunity to cast multiple Any Spells per day. Does this mean you are able to fullfill the prequisites for a prestige class, that needs 2nd level divine spells able to cast. (In case the answer to a) is arcane!) hope for some answers wollex |

| wollex08-03-07, 10:09 AM | Thanks for your answer. But i am still not sure. Yes, the Any Spell is a divine spell because it is a domain spell, but the spell you prepare through the Any Spell is a spell treated as casted by a wizard with half cl of the cleric. Maybe the translation in the german FRCS is lousy like so often. Too difficult? I really don't know the anwer. |
| Fabius Maximus08-03-07, 02:05 PM | Don't take the german version of the FRCS too seriously. It's been translated by Amigo. They were notoriously bad at such things. Try and get a copy of Spell Compendium. It has the most recent version of that spell. It says that you use your Wisdom modifier (which has to be high enough to cast a 3rd-level spell) for the DC and you have to use your divine focus instead of any material focus. |
| Zarreth_Nessad08-05-07, 02:09 AM | nvm. |
| runestar08-05-07, 11:25 PM | The way I read my FRCS, it seems like the spell is arcane in nature, just that it uses your wis score. But then this results in all sorts of problems, such as the cleric in fullplate and heavy shield suddenly suffering from 50% ASF, and the possibility of exploting mystic theurge loopholes. |
| Fabius Maximus08-06-07, 07:12 AM | As I wrote before, both Anyspells were updated in Spell Compendium. The text indicates very clearly that they are divine spells. |
