| Neely08-15-07, 01:26 PM | Hi all, could I have some feedback on the design for following ranger spell? Secret Arrow Transmutation Level: Rng 2 Components: V, M Casting Time: 1 swift action Range: Touch Effect: Render 1 arrow or bolt incorporeal and unperceivable. Duration: 1min/lvl Saving Throw: None Spell Resistance: Yes You render an arrow or bolt invisible and inaudible by normal means. The arrow ignores any non-living matter (including armor) and deals it normal damage on impact. Contructs, objects and undead are not subject to this arrow. My DM agreed mostly with it, but had concerns if the "unperceivable" issue rendered the subject Flatfooded thus ignoring any dex/dodge modifier on AC. Would this spell be too powerful if it indeed ignored both armor, dex and dodge bonus? We both agreed it would not ignore natural armor, since its part of a living creature, nor it would ignore deflection modifiers since those are magical. |

They also wouldn't lose their Dex bonus if they were aware of you shooting at them. The problem I foresee is if a ranger has Craft Magic Arms and Armor and starts manufacturing them. I would bump the level up to 3, personally, and make it so the ranger can't hand it off to people. |
