Ring of Telekinesis question [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-06-07, 11:40 PM I was wondering if it is possible for a fighter to use a ring of telekinesis? The item simply refers to the spell description, which speaks to DC's based on the respective modifiers of wizards and sorcerers. Would a fighter in this case be treated as a mage or sorcerer because it's an item?

06-07-07, 09:24 AM When a character uses ANY magical item (except a staff) the effects are exactly the same whether they can cast the spell or not.

The ring of telekinesis lists your caster level (9th) in the description. Even your 20th level wizard is restricted to a 9th level caster effect when using this ring.

06-07-07, 04:43 PM Is it possible to fly using a ring of telekinesis? Assuming of course that your character is lower than the weight limit of the spell casted as a 9th level spellcaster.
