SM from Tome of Magic that is (which is seperate and different from Shadow Weave). IMO it's very possible WotC could be implementing the Shadow Magic system from Tome of Magic to New Faerun in a much more Realms-sense than just another generic D&D class. The 3 Shadow Weave magic feats, the Shadow Adept class, can sill be applied to the Shadowcaster Core class without much if any change. The Shade Princes could basically keep their Shadow Adept levels, and incorporate Noctumancer (sp?). Perhaps in 4e, with Mystra and the Weave dying, magic collapsing and drastically changing, the Shadow Weave's system will become the Shadow Magic system from ToM? |

| Fabius Maximus10-24-07, 07:48 AM | I beg to differ. The Warlock has only at-will abilities and requires minimal time for book-keeping. The Shadowcaster has to cope with abilities changing from spells to spell-like to supernatural, all with different uses per day and with different mechanics. Add the overall weakness of the mysteries, and you have system that is very subpar. Truenaming is weak as well. But at least it uses only skill checks. |
