Valgard 05-17-07, 10:54 AM	Hi everybody, I'd wanted to know how the domains from the Spell Compendium are assigned to the deities in the Forgotten Realms, yet being from the Faerūnian pantheon, any demihuman pantheon or a monstrous pantheon. Ideas are welcomed; actually, someone asked for the Complete Divine domains a long ago and I'm posting that thread final result below. I know some domains from the Spell Compendium were originally printed in some issues of the Dragon magazine so, if anyone has one of those articles, I'd appreciate if someone posts which FR deities have some domains assigned to them. Names inside parenthesis ( ) are conclusions arrived at the previous threat. Names inside brackets { } are from the monstrous deities table in Complete Divine. Names with no type of brackets are mentioned in Chapter 10 of the Player's Guide to Faerūn to belong to those deities. Dielzen 05-17-07, 10:06 PM	I had a long reply that I spent an hour examining my books, hit submit, and the forums were down =/ So anyway, I only had like 6 suggestions total (only looked at ones not in the first list) the main point was something like -- Too many of the domains are too similar, how do you decide whether X deity should have Lust or Lechery (examples!) or between Defender and Guardian? Giving a deity 5 domains that are all just about the same is kinda pointless. Other than a couple domain/deity combos, most the stuff is just superfulous.

Valgard 05-20-07, 02:46 PM	Other ideas, more subjective than before: Deathbound: This domain is similar in idea to the Undeath domain, but it is more focused in 'maintaining undead', not creating them, so, probably Velsharoon and Kiaransalee may have it too Envy: Umberlee is said to have envy from Sune... Lust: Lolth uses rituals involving their priestesses mating with Glabrezus. Loviatar has an aspect of sadism that may be related to lust. CN clerics of Sharess may have a darker aspect reflected by this domain. Pride: Dwarves and orcs are very pride, maybe Moradin and Gruumsh should have it? Sloth: Deities who like to see things going on by themselves: Cyric (plots), Loviatar (something sexual I don't want to write here), Talona (diseases), Talos (storms or forest fires) Summoner: Kossuth was very popular in Narfell and Raumathar for the summonings he offered, and I view Thay with this same aspect. Wrath: This domain's granted power is focused on lowering spell capacity (Wisdom) for combat prowess (Strength), and its spells are very oriented towards combat. Martial deities that lack one of the Strength or War domains may have this, in addition to that whose rage is memorable: Garagos.

Also, I would think Corellon Larethian would have Creation, since he's one of the Creator Deities of the pantheons and all. I'd also imagine Talos having Wrath. Also, I'd give Sharess Lust, and possibly Shar, Envy.

Also, I'd give Sharess Lust, and possibly Shar, Envy.Good ones on these. I have already seen Sharess with the Lust domain. More propositions for Wrath: Bahgtru, Malar, Selvetarm, Shevarash. I have doubts with Hoar, Ilneval, the Red Knight, Surtr, Vaprak. Force: This is a domain to use magic missile and many spells with the Force descriptor, also I see the Weave as a 'cosmic power of inertia blah blah' as said in the granted power: Azuth, Mystra. Pride: I don't want to offend any Sun Elf fan, but sun elves are very pride of themselves... maybe Corellon, as their patron, should have the Pride domain.

Valgard 05-26-07, 09:42 AM	Auppenser should have the Force domain, too.I didn't realize to include deities not much supported in the new edition of the game, but I think that this shouldn't be a bad idea. Another consideration: Maybe Courage should be granted to Torm as patron of paladins, since Aura of Valor is one of their most iconic features.
