| Mr. Master05-02-07, 03:36 AM | Spellfire is probably the feat that can most affect a PC,when not the entire campaign. With this feat, you can attack, defend and heal yourself. Moreover,if you take the related prestige class, you can become a truly fearsome opponent for everyone. But...going deeply into its rules,I've seen that it doesn't seem in the end so powerful, unless you take the prestige class. The basic Spellfire can be tremendously powerful at low-mid levels, but its DC of 20 (Ref)can soon be overcome. It can heal up to 2 HP per spell level, but that's simply a ridiculous healing power (a paladin could do far better). So,I was thinking about 2 changes to improve what should be the most powerful form of magic in the Realms: -every 4 levels the DC raise by 1 (21 at 4th level,22 at 8th level, and so on) -you can heal up to 1d4+1 HP per spell level (the prestige class can heal up to 1d8+1 HP per spell level) What do you think about these changes?Have you ever made such a thing? Is Spellfire already too powerful as it is? Thank you.:) |
