Sun Soul Tenets [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-09-07, 12:58 PM I'm working on a Sun Soul Monk character currently in Waterdeep, and I was hoping to flesh it out by figuring out what Hanor Kichavo's (Abbot of Monastery of the Sun) "dogma" would be. As of recent history, he's trying to pull all three branches together, so I figured he'd try to write something that could be read as the teachings of any one of the three faiths. Here's what I have so far:

Perfect thyself in both mind and body. Love and nurture your Sun Soul as you nurture the growth of love, passion, and all good things, for it will be your true guide.

Strive always to aid, to protect beauty, to foster new hope, new ideas, and new prosperity for all humankind and its allies, even when they are shadow fallen, for as the dawn rises and the moon waxes, so too can the Heartfires of people be rekindled. Welcome all and see their beauty in all its forms. Treat those that seek the radiance of their Sun Souls as your dearest friends.

In the dawn, beauty reigns, and the way is clearer.

I especially like that last quote, because even though it's directly from the church of Lathander, it seems to combine the three perfectly as Sune is a goddess of Beauty and Selune is a goddess of Navigation and Questing (among other things).

Is this lacking anything major from those three faiths? Selune might be a little under-represented, but I wasn't sure how to fix that. Any help would be appreciated.

04-14-07, 08:07 AM Selune, to me at least, is important as the light-in-darkness, the light that comes to those who most need it and least expect it. In a way, Lathander is the glory, Selune the hope. Sune is the somewhat odd one here, as her cult probably has a lot less to do with Amauntor than any of the other two (although mind you, Amauntor is definitely closer to Lathander than to Selune, too).

04-15-07, 08:13 PM If I could with one word describe the (few) ways in which Sune would be linked to Amauntor, it would probably be "radiance". Weird, I know, but she does seem to be the Realms' greatest meddler. Imagine what threads you need to pull to be practically the only CG Power to have your own paladin (!) order.
