I'm currently DMing a player who's a Fang Dragon trying to overcome his racial predilictions to become good, and he wants to know more about Bahamut.

Are there any canonical locations that I can direct him to, or just make it up? He's currently in the Waterdeep area (Expedition to UM)

Waterdeep is very likely to have a temple or at the very least a shrine to just about any diety. The fact that Bahamut's religion is one that few if any of the masked lords of Waterdeep would find fault with makes it even more likely. Bahamut has some followers who have chosen to become the dragonborn (think thats what its called) race and Waterdeep is a place that many odd species can find indifference if not acceptance makes it even more likely. I would give Bahamut a small temple, one that is newly built or in the process of construction (could even work it into a plot hook).

Perhaps not an actual temple, but I think there may be a small shrine with indications where to find more. If not, perhaps any of the dragons in the vicinity (check Dragons of Faerun or at least its web excerpts) might coach the fang towards Bahamut.

The problem with Waterdeep is the Dragonward. That means that dragons, including half-dragons and probably even dragonborn can't enter, making it a less than optimal location for a temple of Bahamut.

Another likely location for Bahamut shrines/temples would be Damara. The current ruler is a big enemy of evil dragons so it is likely that the church of Bahamut would be active in this country.

As fang dragon it probably is better for your player to search a devoted dragon or dragonborn instead of a established temple which most likely only deals with humanoid followers of Bahamut.

Some dragons do live in Waterdeep. I believe they just have to get permission from some wizard with a dragonstaff or something.

Yes, a evil wizard to my knowledge. Not someone who relates well with a temple of bahamut in the area.

Actually dragons can roam freely in the dock ward because of the lame construction of the Dragonward Mythal (See Dragons Of Faerun)

Yes but that is a secret and the few dragons who know that don't want this to become public knowledge.
