| tae'graciel04-11-07, 08:37 AM | My PC's were in Skullport and the wizard unknowingly 'stumbbled upon the crown of horns'. He so far has managed to stave off with good will saves... but it's only a matter of time... what possabilities are there out there for me? how does the crown change a PC? (besides a lich and evil) |
| customdrapery04-11-07, 10:10 AM | You just "found" the Crown of Horns? I mean, I find some good stuff at a garage sale every once in a while, but a major artifact... And yes, your wizard will eventually turn evil and undead (lich-like), as described in Magic of Faerun. Oh, and you can't remove it unless Myrkul says so. |
| redmagefish04-11-07, 06:39 PM | the crown is powerful and evil i would sell it to a temple of .helm (best for keeping it safe that is is job) tyr, or any HUGE curch of a godly god for safe keeping. but you could sell it to a one of the evil curchs for 1000s of gp. if some one puts it on like the wizard has it on kill him then get rid of it or face a lich with the powers of lichdom made stronger by the crown. |
| Grandmaster_Kane04-11-07, 08:28 PM | dude 1000's i think not the church of murkul would pay at least 1mill gp |
| tae'graciel04-12-07, 12:45 AM | Well, he's an Elven wizard... kinda frozen in time when he was young. But anways, they were in Skullport and Quile wanted it gone and they just happened to come by.... (they had to kill the Yuan-ti lich D'Hotech who had it after it fixed itself (so says the Skullport Pdf.) (They also destroyed The Eye and theres a lot of ****** off calminshans coming after them) I know its a major artifact and so far he has not put it on (He made his will against sugestion, but not sympathy, so thats why he took it, it has not tried again yet...waiting for a more oppertune time.) Uh ya, any sujestions on how to destroy it... I know Khelben did and by the time I am done with him, he should be stronger then Khelben... or dead... :) Thanks all |
| Lord Karsus04-12-07, 09:20 AM | -Just want to let you know that you wrote "Crown of Thorns" in the title. ;) |
| Stigger04-12-07, 09:37 AM | Yeah, threw me off too... was kinda ignoring this for religious reasons for a bit, then got curious... |

Not long ago, I found one of the pieces of the rod of seven parts. Here LK and myself had been using it as a toilet plug for years. In all seriousness tho', the crown of horns is more often than not going to simply be "found", as the essence of Myrkul teleports himself around to evade capture. |

| QuenthelsChampion04-14-07, 04:45 PM | You could always go to Waterdeep and talk to Khelben and Laeral if they would see you. Laeral used to have the crown i don't know the full story but Aumvor let them find it in a way to make her his wife since she would be evil and such. Or if you want him to turn evil you could always give him the Horned Harbringer in Faiths and Pantheons. QC |
