Volumvax? [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-07-08, 10:43 PM Who is Volumvax? There's no mention of him in my Forgotten Realms guide (guess I should have sprung for Faiths and Pantheons), a search of this website didn't even bring up an earlier post about him, and Wikipedia didn't have a blip. Which, I guess, is pretty much par for the course for a creature of Shar's, but stil . . . who is he/she/it, how did it get that way, and is it really one of Mask's original First of Five?

Also, are they turning the devil father of Magadon into a god after the end of the Shadowstorm novels? It's interesting the last volume doesn't drop until the relaunch of everything, and Cale did promise that devil Mask's stolen divinity, so . . .

02-08-08, 03:27 AM Volumvax was originally named Kesson Rel. He was Mask's first chosen ever! Apparently, he was given a piece of Mask's divinity to hold but ended up stealing it from him when Kesson switched to the worship of Shar. There is a short story in Realms of Dragons 1 that tells the story about these events.(got the book on order so cant give any details about what it says) Also, Volumvax is not one of Mask's Five that are mentioned in the Cale books.
For your question about Magadon's father, I dont think they are going to make him into a god or anything. My thoughts are that Cale will somehow bring Volumvax(since he now has the divine energy in him per Shadowstorm) to Mephistopheles' plane and lets them duke it out,with Meph as the winner most likely. With Vol dead, the divine energy is released and grabbed by Cale who then escapes from Cania and gives the divine energy back to Mask. This way Cale completed his promise to both Meph and Mask about bringing them the divine energy.
