Wall of force [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-21-07, 09:08 PM Yes defence against aerial combat in a war situation, so it would need to cover a fair number of people hence not globes of invunrability.

The spell description does not specify that it needs to be cast upon anything, but apparently it must be vertical.

04-25-07, 08:24 PM In my old campaign (where I was a player - sorcerer) I used this spell to an almost unfair advantage.

We were traveling by sea for a few seesions and had some other ships chasing us. It goes like this.

Ship persuing you at full speed and gaining on you. Prismatic wall cast 10' in front of persuing ship. Persuing ship smashs into un-moveable wall at full speed. Ship sinks, you carry on.
It was a beautiful thing, and made my DM go :OMG! :headexplo :nonono:

04-30-07, 12:08 PM With wall spells and similar effects I always wonder: In relation to what are these walls immovable? "In relation to the point in space at which they were cast" is not even enough - you'd need two relative points in 3D space, preferably on the surface of Faerūn.
Otherwise, you could just say "I erect a Wall of Whatever there-and-there, fixed in relation to the center of the earth" and watch everybody and everything east of the wall crash into it at close to 2000 km/h as the planet rotates!
