Do warlocks draw on the weave? Are they effected by dead magic zones?

How come?

Thanks

;) no prob

Either way I'll say no They don't "Weave" that Raw magic to makeit a spell, They use that RAW power directly

When this came up before, the consensus was that yes, spell like abilities draw upon the weave.

Bump

Anybody else wanna weigh in on this one? What I'm getting right now is that if somebody brings a Warlock into the Anaroch dead magic zone they'll be business as usual.

I'm trying to figure out if that ruling is correct or not and why?? Help

Any chance you could point me at the thread that it came up before in? I'd like to read it.

[Unofficially], yes warlocks derive their power from the weave. Their powers are spell-like abilities that are subject to wild magic, dead magic zones, anti-magic fields, and other issues that affect spells.

I wish I could, but this thread was just after Complete Arcane came out. But there was some support to the arguement. Can't remember the exact rules, but it is basicly the same reason why Beholders rays don't work in an anti magic field.
