It is a tree-like artifact which, when nourished with the life forces of celestials and fiends (attached to the branches and roots respectively, which wither, die, and turn to dust as the Weave Tap absorbs their life force) in addition to certain other conditions to empower it, it grows and inserts its branches and roots into the fabric of the Weave and Shadow Weave. Drawing from their power, it produces seeds which, when planted, drain magic from the surrounding area if there is any (basically, you want to plant them at a mantle of magic such as a Mythal) and sends that magic back to the Weave Tap, which stores it. The caster in control of the artifact can use that to power their magic (what that would mean in game terms I can't say, but in the novel it was used to power a very potent epic spell). And yes, it was destroyed. Erevis Cale exposes it to sunlight at the end of Midnight's Mask, and unable to survive in direct sunlight (being an artifact of shadow) it withered, burned, and died. | Grimgrag04-16-07, 01:47 PM | thx for the answers . but what is it realy for ? for me a mighty item like that shoud have been made for a big goal not for a 10k year old twisted humanoid that is the last of his race |
| TomCosta04-17-07, 04:34 PM | Presumably it was created to steal power from Mystra and grant it to Shar.... |
