So when I saw the article about the Countdown to the Realms, I was confused. It spoke of Mystra being killed by Cyric... and the weave.. and Shar.. Yeah, what the hell? I will admit that I am not a huge realms junkie but I am fairly up to date on the material, I have even read most of the FR books. That article was confusing for me. Was this supposed to be a real time picture of what is going in the realm? If so are there any books about all of this? Or was this an attempt to prepare the world for 4e by killing Mystra and unleashing the spellplague on the world so that the "changes" could be made?

And in closing, if Mystra is truly dead and gone never to return, could someone please make sure she takes that truly wretched excuse for a wizard with her (Elminster). Removing him from the realms would make me happy...

Just help yourself to the dozens of threads on that very topic. (BTW, where have you been this last fortnight? The outer rings of Jupiter? ;) )

You did not miss anything..yet. That all has not happened. It's all a sneak peak of the 4E Realms. All that stuff will happen...soon.

-Hey, BT, long time no see.

-Anyway, Izzy, I suggest you get A Grand History of the Realms. Not only is it a (mostly) comprehensive timeline of the setting, but it also sheds some light on what will be happening in the future (which is what you are allusing to).

And Elminster will still be around 4th edition.

Anyway, besides giving you those last few miserable entries leading up to 1385 DR and the end of FR as we know it, it is also the FINAL product of 3e FR, and a wonderful crowning achievment for a setting that gave us twenty wonderful years.

Its the perfect piece to complete anyone's Realms collection.
