Its about as non-threatening a place as you can get.

Okie, well begin massslaughtering petitioners and theres a bunch of gnome deities to squash you... but i bet theyll be happier to see you leave, than squash you and thus start a fight.

Sort of a cruel prank to belittle the archmage I think.

That's probably it. Otherwise Dyrr would have probably sent him to Arvander. I know of a certain elven archer deity who would be especially happy to see him. :elf:

It wasn't Bytopia, it was Celestia...and he was about to get his arse kicked by Yondalla herself...

-There is no greater disrespect to a person than someone completely dismissing him/her (literally and metaphorically, in this case).

which book?

-It was the last book in the War of the Spider Queen series, Resurrection. Either that, or the one before it, though I am pretty sure it was Book VI.

it was book 5
the fight in the bazaar between Gromph and Dyrr is over completely before the ending of book 5.

Book 6 details the new DWP and the incursion of Gromph and Triel into House Agrach'Dyrr to end the existence of the lichdrow forever.

-Well, I knew it was one of them.

Gaagh! You mean I still have one more book before my favorite dark elf returns? (I'm just finishing Book 3. I don't mind spoilers. I usually forget them by the time I get back to reading. Lousy housework and job! Cutting into all my reading/gaming time!)

I'm actually not sure whether the author did that on purpose or just rolled for the result, just like that high-level arcane spell says.

-Sure, but that's not fun. ;)

Gromph could easly take donw that mansy pamsy goddess with half his spells gone and away from his own abode. :P

Rank 18 Greater Goddess...in her own domain on her home plane...Gromph was in serious trouble and she could have simply willed his spells away or any other number of things...

It was a halfing weakness joke. I'm sure any goddess or god would have no trouble killing a drow on there plane. Easy Killer...

Aren't halflings easily distracted by bright, shiny objects? Just flick a small piece of polished silver, and while she's chasing after it, ZAP!:) (Based on and old PC halfling who was played that way. The player thought that halflings, normally curious and always into things, might be tons o' fun if one was a bit on the hyperactive, Attention Deficit Disorder side. He was more often than not the whole reason the party got into adventures (read: trouble). His name was "Zinger".)
