| Todesherr02-18-08, 08:09 AM | I have this idea that Loviator and Talona will be amalgamated into an intermediate power combing both their portfolios as with Tymora and llira and Eldath (possibly greater power?). Talos will be taking over Umberlee's porfolio as he will Auril's. Lathander becomes one with Ilmater... You get the drift...anyone think this is plausible? |
| Kenzuki02-18-08, 09:03 AM | I don't see Lathander and Ilmater becoming one. I think Ilmater will become a Lesser Power though. |
| Todesherr02-18-08, 10:54 PM | I don't see Lathander and Ilmater becoming one. I think Ilmater will become a Lesser Power though. I think lesser powers will disappear entirely...mostly greater with a smattering of intermediates....thus say the prophets... |
| The_Shaman02-19-08, 01:15 AM | I thought lessers would be demoted to demigods or heralds or become aspects of other deities, tbh. |
| Lord Karsus02-19-08, 09:35 AM | -Racial pantheons are likely to be amalgamated with Faerūnian Human deities. Demideities are set to lose their power and become 'saints' of a greater power, making a whole bunch of 'mini pantheons'. |
| Zireael02-25-08, 03:28 AM | Will the drow pantheon disappear?? |
| Lord Karsus02-25-08, 12:53 PM | Will the drow pantheon disappear?? -It's only down to Lolth, Eilistraee and Ghaunadaur, and we know Big G is going to be leaving the Demonweb Pits, leaving only Lolth and Eilistraee. So, in short, probably. In the end, I suppose there will only be Lolth. |

| Lord Karsus02-25-08, 11:11 PM | Or Maybe Lolth (bad drow) Daughter (good drow) -The prologue of The Orc King, which takes place 100 years in the future, has Drizzt mention that, at some point, something horrible happened to the the worshippers of Eilistraee. Based on all of the circumstantial evidence pileing up, it doesn't look too good for Eilistraee. |
| MarkusTay6302-26-08, 02:15 AM | We need an easier term for these new 'mini-Pantheons' - thats just becoming too unwieldy to keep saying. Once 4e is here, and people really start discussing them, we will need some new terminolgy (unless the designers have already come up with one, which I doubt). My vote goes for "Karas", with a nod to Kurt Vonnegut and his very excellent Cat's Cradle. It basically just means 'a circle of people who are somehow linked on a mystical level'. :D |
| GreenKnight02-27-08, 01:35 AM | I think lesser powers will disappear entirely...mostly greater with a smattering of intermediates....thus say the prophets... It's going to be like this: Greater Gods Lesser Gods Demigods From the sound of it, 4E Lesser Gods are what 3E Intermediate Gods were. And 4E Demigods are weaker then 3E Lesser Gods and 3E Demigods. I have this idea that Loviator and Talona will be amalgamated into an intermediate power combing both their portfolios as with Tymora and llira and Eldath (possibly greater power?). Talos will be taking over Umberlee's porfolio as he will Auril's. Lathander becomes one with Ilmater... You get the drift...anyone think this is plausible? Not in the slightest. Some, like Gruumsh/Talos and Seluna/Sehanine are apparently turning out to be the same god. But for the rest, they'll still stay separate entities. Only difference is that many of those weaker gods will be 4E Demigods in the service of a Greater God. |

| Soltares02-27-08, 10:09 AM | I have this idea that Loviator and Talona will be amalgamated into an intermediate power combing both their portfolios as with Tymora and llira and Eldath (possibly greater power?). The idea of gods being 'amalgamated' makes me think of some freakish transporter accident... "Fear me, tiny fools! I am Bormatarosunetra! GLAURGGHH!" |
| Lord Karsus02-27-08, 11:28 PM | -Here is the definitive answer: Exarchs The exarchs are often called demigods or heroes, and many are ascended mortal servants of greater gods, brought up from the world to serve as agents of their divine masters. Many, but not all, attract worshipers of their own, and they have some ability to grant spells, but are more often simply conduits from the mortal world to the attention of the higher gods. For example, the druids of Gulthandor pay homage to the Lion God, but in reality the character's divine spells are being granted by Nobanion's patron, Silvanus. Unlike true deities, exarchs are not bound to live in Astral Dominions with their patrons. Like Nobanion, many choose to live on the Material Plane, more directly engaged in the lives of their mortal followers. Finally, exarchs in D&D campaigns are fully intended to be defeatable by any epic-level PC strong enough to attempt it. Of course, immortal beings are not just sitting around waiting for epic-level adventurers to take their life. And should the PCs even succeed in such an endeavor, they'll surely have earned the wrath of the exarch's patron deity. |
| Todesherr02-28-08, 07:59 AM | -Here is the definitive answer: Interesting....so Loviator is now an exarch of Bane? For example... And Deneir is an exarch of Oghma? BUT Torm will be a Greater God now? Right? Can you reveal some more information Lord Karsus? |

| Lord Karsus02-28-08, 04:48 PM | Can you reveal some more information Lord Karsus? -All we have concrete evidence about right now is the new relationship between Silvanus and Nobanion. |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin02-29-08, 01:54 PM | -All we have concrete evidence about right now is the new relationship between Silvanus and Nobanion. Actually, I just read on Candlekeep that the sidebar on Nobanion in the recent Dragon article has been removed because it was an outdated version of what the designers wanted to do. So now, even Nobanion's details are "sketchy". |

| The Ubbergeek03-02-08, 01:53 AM | Uniates? It's already a religious term... |
