| Suin Bahhar10-17-07, 01:05 PM | In an upcomming campaign I like to make summonning a very personal thing. Everytime a cleric summons an angel he summons the same individual most of the time. The relationship an angel has with her host determines her effectiveness in her duty. Or is this folly as lesser archons are unable to have personalities save from stern judgdemental altruists? In the PGtF my impression was different as there were several individuals mentioned. What is the hierarchy of the realms angels? Does Zaphkiel work independant from the Triad or Tyr? Why is he missing in action? I understand eladrin are ruled by a Queen Morwel and Faerinaal. Why did Gwynharwyf choose to act independant of the court on Arvandor and other aliied planes? Have there ever been battles between archons and eladrin? I guess the coming changes to the planes will put a lot of stress on the situation of the angels as their role gets taken over more by lesser gods. Will the archons betray guardinals like Talisid? |

The relationship an angel has with her host determines her effectiveness in her duty. Or is this folly as lesser archons are unable to have personalities save from stern judgdemental altruists? It seems a very good idea to me. I think the DMG has something you may find useful. I don't know if there's a precedence of this in the Realms but I think that should be quite popular among spellcasters. In the PGtF my impression was different as there were several individuals mentioned. What is the hierarchy of the realms angels? Does Zaphkiel work independant from the Triad or Tyr? Why is he missing in action? The PGtF mentions this. There simply says that the Celestial Paragons from the Book of Exalted Deeds do exist in the Realms. The only major difference is that Zaphkiel is subordinate only to Tyr (in the BoED, He answers to no deity at all). I understand eladrin are ruled by a Queen Morwel and Faerinaal. Why did Gwynharwyf choose to act independant of the court on Arvandor and other aliied planes? The eladrin are chaotic by nature. They serve Queen Morwel as a spiritual leader but she does not support hierarchies or anything similar. That gives Gwynharwyf full freedom to do whatever She wants. Simply nobody sees strange the way She acts. Have there ever been battles between archons and eladrin? None that I know. Champions of Valor confirms this, but there's no mention other than a single sentence. I guess the coming changes to the planes will put a lot of stress on the situation of the angels as their role gets taken over more by lesser gods. Will the archons betray guardinals like Talisid?I don't think the different kinds of celestials will make hostile acts against each other. The answer I give you above is a good reasoning, but after seeing how they turned Tyr a sucker because they need to rebuild the cosmology and the pantheons, it is possible I could be wrong. |
| Suin Bahhar10-18-07, 06:54 PM | Nice. Thanks Valgard. I want to give the armies of Chessenta flavored angels as battle leaders, with personalities borrowed from the BoED and woven with the cities. A Cleric summons one of these in their open city battles. Cimbar would summon Erathaol, the Seer (by clerics of the Eleusinion of Lathander) Akanax would summon Raziel, the Crusader (by clerics of the Amphitheatre of the First Thunder of Assuran) Lutchec would summon an aspect of Ghaunadar (by clerics of the Black Void of Entropy) Airspur would summon an aspect of Tempus (by clerics of the Red Armory of Tempus) Soorenar would summon a Khumat of Set with barbarian levels (by clerics of the Hidden Fang of Set) Mourdulkin would summon an Archon with wizard levels ((by clerics of the Divinatium of Azuth) Mourktar would summon an Erinyes with blackguard levels (by clerics of the Black Lord Cloak of Bane) Reth would summon something like a dire bear (very few clerics of high level there) :P |

I think it says something like LG Archons find far more in common with CG Elandrins than they do with LE Devils and that they would never fight with each other, in BOED? |

| Suin Bahhar10-19-07, 09:18 AM | I am going with the notion of the sphere of annihilation being a part of Tharizdun, who escaped its prison on a remote plane (destroying the whole plane in the proces) and splintered into pieces of entropy. I know of the part with Tiamat granting spells but I have other plans for her. |
