| Galad10-18-06, 07:32 PM | There are quite a few that have been mentioned if not officially statted. Here are a few off the top of my head though some are retired (like the Nine that you listed). The Company of Eight (retired - Lands of Intigue) The Knights of the Sword Coast (I think that was their name - Waterdeep City of Splendors Boxed Set) The New Knights of the Sword Coast (also from Waterdeep) The Buckleswashers (Waterdeep) Heroes of the Hall (Drizzt and gang - Heroes Lorebook) The Company of the Catlash (Myth Drannor boxed set) The Company of the Dreaming Dragon (Heroes Lorebook under Caledan Caldorien) Foes of the Fang (Waterdeep) Those are all the ones I know of offhand but there are many more. I dont think many adventuring companies have been mentioned in 3rd edition sources so mine are all from 2e sources. Without digging out the old books I cannot remember anymore. Hope this helps. |

| Victor_Ograygor04-01-07, 02:30 AM | Thanks MerrikCale :D |
| Zireael04-02-07, 07:11 AM | I think the Flaming Fist is more a guard than mercenary group. Otherwise we could insert the Purple Dragons of Cormyr. :) |
| Victor_Ograygor04-04-07, 05:38 PM | ahh.. yes Flaming Fist is not a Adventuring Companie :) |
| MalariaMoon04-04-07, 05:57 PM | Quite a few of these could be interpreted as mercanery companies (such as the Red Ravens) and not adventuring groups, although such definitions are difficult to judge. When does a band of adventurers start to become a small warband? I'd judge an adventuring group to be somewhere between three and ten members. By the way, who were Mane's Band? I remember them as being based in Shadowdale, but were any of their exploits explored in anything official (other than just hinted at, as in the 2nd ed campaign box)? I had a feeling that they originated in a D&D campaign run by Ed Greenwood in the murky mists of the Forgotten Realms creation, before the Knights of Myth Drannor. However, that could be complete nonsense; few of the nuggets of information lurking in my head have any connection to the truth. |
| The_King_in_Yellow04-04-07, 07:28 PM | Wasn't there an adventuring band of Halflings imaginatively titled Halflings Inc. or was that from Greyhawk? |
| Victor_Ograygor04-11-07, 02:25 AM | ohh i cant remmber.... |
| Old Sage04-11-07, 03:11 AM | By the way, who were Mane's Band? | Old Sage04-11-07, 03:12 AM | Wasn't there an adventuring band of Halflings imaginatively titled Halflings Inc. or was that from Greyhawk? They're referenced in the Realms -- namely [FOR1] Draconomicon. |

| Victor_Ograygor05-14-07, 09:35 AM | great thanks Page one : Adventuring Companies in forgotten realms |
| Kelmech_Ra05-14-07, 01:35 PM | I'm a little confused, do you mean mercenary companies, or actual adventuring groups, such as the companions of the hall, or both? |
| Victor_Ograygor05-15-07, 02:24 PM | This thread is fore Adventuring Companies in forgotten realms if you have some mercenary companies that isn’t listed on this thread you are always welcome to post them here. http://forum.candlekeep.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7843 Thanks in advance Vic. |
| Kelmech_Ra05-15-07, 06:39 PM | Well, it looks like the companies listed in Gold and Glory are already up there, but new mercs from *spoiler* Hillsfar, i think, should be available as they were disbanded when the Zhents took control of the city. Also don't forget that DMs can make up their own unique mercanry companies. If you need men quick, spreading word in big cities usually works well. Lots of the street ruffian types will usually fight for gold, but don't expect them to be effective. If you need bodies, they work well. I did this in one of my campaings. I hired about 400 street toughs and after the battle 10 were left alive. They got bonuses. |
| Victor_Ograygor05-18-07, 10:05 AM | What mercenary companies *spoiler* are you refering to ? |
| Victor_Ograygor06-15-07, 09:34 AM | I updated the list if you have some Adventuring Companies in forgotten realms from official sources that is not posted on page 1 please tell me. ;) |
| Nisstyrethegreat06-15-07, 04:18 PM | who was in the nine? |
| Faraer06-15-07, 04:32 PM | The Nine included Laeral Silverhand and several others, including a ranger and a bard now called Thanadar and Arnthiir Windrivv. |
| Victor_Ograygor06-17-07, 03:47 AM | where can i find information on The Nine |
| Victor_Ograygor07-21-07, 09:10 AM | I updated the list at page 1. |
| Smilin_Bandit07-24-07, 03:33 PM | The Freedom Warriors and Mahrlee's Raiders both from Cormyr The Freedom Warriors weren't an adventuring band, but instead a secretive organization led by Lord Hyraken that was bent on the removal of the acting Regent, Princess Alusair Oboarskyr. Doxon's Company and Mahrlee's Raiders were both adventuring companies in that module, Into the Dragon's Lair. |
| Galad07-25-07, 07:19 AM | where can i find information on The Nine I don't remember exactly where you can find info. on the Nine except a little about the members in the 2e box set Waterdeep and Volo's Guide to the North but this is mostly a little about the members. Aside from the two already mentioned there was also Helm of Helms Hold or Holdfast, Tolgar Anuvien of Goldenfields, Trunnian Regalis who is one of the few humans let onto Evermeet, Malchor Harpell and Savengriff. That would be eight of them. This is all off the top of my head from books I have not read in a long time so please double check all info. |
| Victor_Ograygor08-02-07, 05:00 AM | cheking the information given, but wher ? :) |
