| LittleCarp0403-23-07, 04:53 PM | I just picked up PHB2, and really love the chapter with affiliations, and I was needing some help with putting some into Forgotten Realms, really just wanting one for a good theives/assassin guild. I want to make it a combonation of crime syndicate (from DMG2) and theives guild from the affiliations chapter. My first thoughts were the Night Masks, or the Fire Knives, but im not sure which of the big assassin(y) guilds are the biggest/most wideknown in faerun. So any help you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated. |

Zhents as well, but they've been kinda done to death lately. Or you could just invent something for your own campaign... which would be my own personal preference were I doing it, since you don't have to worry about continuity that way and can figure out just how difficult or easy it would be to get in touch with them without having to worry about 'reputation' overly much. Makes it easier to come up with favored in the guild benefits as well, since you don't have to pour over several different tomes to get it right... nothing worse for me than making something work one way, and then coming across a tidbit I forgot about that totally invalidates what I just spent the last 2 hours writing out. |

I was thinking that possibly it could be based in calimport, like one of the pashas basically made a whole assassins guild. Either that or something started in Skullport that has started making its way into waterdeep. but thanks for the reply nonetheless. |

Waterdeep could work as well, and there should be some stuff in the City of Splendors PDF for 2e, and some updated info in Waterdeep:City of Splendors for 3.5. |
