| creyzi4zb1212-01-07, 07:55 AM | Looking for anti-uber builds in FR. Does anybody know any anti-ube builds in FR like.... Anti-paladin Dwarfbane that's an orc Antimage |
| Stigger12-01-07, 08:11 AM | I don't think I even understand the question as you've phrased it... |
| Suin Bahhar12-01-07, 09:29 AM | I think creyzi means if there are specific builds to counter a mage, an orc barbarian or a human paladin. I could be wrong though if he means how to create a build thats the exact opposite of a paladin, orc or mage. An orc is countered by anything with enough brains. A mage is countered by a monk with extreme initiative and grapple. A paladin by a cowardly archer-ranger with high accuracy. |
| Stigger12-01-07, 10:07 AM | Ah, could be... still can't quite parse it though. |
| selunatic239712-01-07, 05:59 PM | I'm with you Stigger....Huh? |
| Sylock12-02-07, 11:17 PM | It's easy, he want's uber builds that are anti the 'standard' races or classes. For example, a paladin is a standard class. He was an anti-paladin type class that is uber. Dwarfs are a standard race, he is looking for a dwarf-bane class for orcs. Was that really that hard, granted he didn't write it using a Masters level English degree thingie. |
| GothicDan12-02-07, 11:19 PM | Yes, it is hard. "Anti-uber builds" translates, in normal, every day English, to "opposite of super builds." I thought the OP meant builds that are mechanically inefficient. Look, I didn't even need a 100 level college English course to parse that. |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin12-03-07, 09:23 AM | I thought the OP meant builds that are mechanically inefficient. So did I, althougth the question seems beyond pointless to me. |
| creyzi4zb1212-04-07, 04:22 AM | So, are there anti-uber builds out there? Maybe we should make some more.... Drowslayer Anti-paladin Dwarfbane UnElminster WeaveCutter |
| Suin Bahhar12-04-07, 06:57 AM | So, are there anti-uber builds out there? Maybe we should make some more.... Drowslayer Anti-paladin Dwarfbane UnElminster WeaveCutterI think you ought to ask this question on the Character Optimisation boards. Because none of those "builds" are über or anti. And D&D doesn't really have antibuilds, particular builds just have weaknesses and others can have a way to take advantage of that. And why didn't you make clear what the question is really about? Good builds that are highly likely to win versus other good builds? Good builds versus realmsian threats? Please elaborate... |
| Karsus the Mad12-07-07, 03:47 AM | A 0 level commoner apprentice with -10 HP is the most anti-uber build I can think of off hand. Drowslayer Anti-paladin Dwarfbane UnElminster WeaveCutter For these.... Uber/Anti Drow/Any Elf Dwarf/Any goblinoid Elminster/Manshoon or Szas Tam Weave/Shadow Weave They're not builds...but are about as opposite to the subjects that I can think of. |
| Lord Karsus12-08-07, 04:38 PM | A 0 level commoner apprentice with -10 HP is the most anti-uber build I can think of off hand. -And, for that Commoner, there are a bunch of good feats in the April 2005 (or was it 2004?) issue of DRAGON magazine. |
| Karsus the Mad12-09-07, 10:04 AM | -And, for that Commoner, there are a bunch of good feats in the April 2005 (or was it 2004?) issue of DRAGON magazine. Here's some ideas for commoner feats. Improved Harvest Efficient Butter Churning Barn Builder Born to the Land Peasant's Life Freeman Rights |
| Lord Karsus12-09-07, 10:17 AM | -Nah, the "Flaws for Commoners" was much funnier: Chicken Infested Effect: You have a 50% of pulling out a live chicken when reaching for any item. Corpse Effect: You start game play dead, but you get an extra feat! Delicious Effect: All monsters attack you, because you taste good. Dirt Farmer Effect: You must spend 18 hours every day farming your your leige, and if you don't, he has you killed. Incomprehensible Accent Effect: No one can understand what you are saying. Nagging Cough Effect: You begin play effected with Mummy Rot. Peasant Hat Effect: You begin play with an hat that cannot be removed that gives you a -15 to all Diplomacy checks, and allows others to order you around. Pig Bond Effect: You must, at all times, carry a pig that refuses to walk on it's own who's weight is equal to your maximum carrying capacity. Uninportant NPC Effect: Nobody cares about you, and you have no name, no family, and never included in dividing loot, and so on. Weresheep Effect: You are afflicted with lycanthropy, and can transform into a harmless sheep. When in Sheep form or hybrid form, you gain the effects of the Delicious flaw. XP Farm Effect: You are worth 10 times the normal EXP for someone with your CR, making someone very happy. |
| Suin Bahhar12-09-07, 10:22 AM | I know how to break a local economy with a broken flawed 1st level commoner. The feats are quick draw and the feat Chicken infested which has a 50% chance of letting the commoner draw a chicken instaed of a weapon. The first thing in the morning let the commoner quickdraw all his pockets, sheats and quivers to produce an infinate amount of chickens. Feed your family checken stew and sell the rest. Give him close range shot to pelt chickens at his enemies. ;) |
