| Orcish-Firebat11-04-07, 12:00 AM | If I remember Correctly, Artemis Entreri had infravision in the book Starless Night (8th book in the legend of Drizzt) but when i continued reading "Paths of Darkness" and "SellSwords" His eyes did not glow with the red infravision and he could not see in the dark like he could in one of the previous books. Does anyone have an explanation or any ideas of what happend? |
| Phelf_Der_Zemit11-04-07, 12:56 AM | Well I think the magic of the mask that changed his apperince to that of Regis might have altered his vision, because after he takes it off I dont think he has it anymore. but i could be wrong. |
| Blibbering_Humdinger11-04-07, 01:15 AM | Possibly the mask. More likely it was a wizard's spell of infravision provided by Jarlaxle, or some other magical trinket--provided by Jarlaxle. Come on--the guy's not gonna save Entreri, drag him down to Menzoberranzan, and then let him walk around blind in a drow deathtrap. |
| Zémobiel11-04-07, 03:00 AM | He was using the headband of Cathie-Brie to see in the darkness in this book. Artemis Entreri never really have Infravision. I immagine that later he have lost this headband |
| Lykor11-04-07, 08:40 AM | Entreri had an earring that provided darkvision/infravision. |
| captaincarot11-04-07, 10:47 AM | Entreri had an earring that provided darkvision/infravision. jarlaxle gave the ear ring to him but vierna gave it to jarlaxle. |
| Blibbering_Humdinger11-04-07, 08:30 PM | I haven't read Legacy of the Drow in a while, but flipping through the pages of Starless Night just now, at the end of the scene where Firble and Jarlaxle meet to discuss drow activity outside Blingdenstone, it does say that Entreri's infravision was a "gift from a drow priestess." |
| bondious11-04-07, 10:44 PM | Yeah, I think it was just an "Infravision/Darkvision" spell that was cast on Artemis everyday while he was with the Drow. OR, maybe it WAS an item (like the ear ring mentioned above), but said item might have been "Drowcraft", and subequently disintegrated when he exited the Underdark. |

When you boil it down though, this sort of stuff is mundane by Realms standards. So really, we shouldn't be surprised that Entreri had infravision in that book. It's to be expected, and in fact, so expected that I didn't even think about it until someone asked the question. :) |
| captaincarot11-05-07, 01:41 PM | i know for a fact it was an earring i read the book again 2 days ago. i'm currently in the process of working my way through the first 4 drizzt series. i've just finished the page where they lost wulfgar. |

| Phelf_Der_Zemit11-07-07, 04:37 PM | no, when near a mithlar he can cast blacklight, creating darkness around him that only he can see through. |
