I know this seems like a waste of time to most of you. But I would like to know just for reasoning of opinion on my own.

They are basically the same in terms of skill even though Drizzt has won every fight until somone intervined.I wanted a semi poll of your more favorite of the two. I have heard many people say they hate Drizzt but respect him as a character and others hardcore Drow fanboys. The only Drow I even consider decent is Jarlaxell, all though he is merciful to everyone and anyone. And I am sure many of you will argue he is a oprritunist.

Drizzt or Artemis..I appreciate the post in the future even though many of you dont care.

I for one, like Artemis and he is my favorite character in the realms next to Sazz Tam.

I love Drizzt. But, first off, I disagree that he's one every fight. I mean, the original fight Artemis got away with both Regis and Guenhwyvar... Score one for Artemis. Also, when Drizzt was kidnapped and forced to fight, Artemis could have easily killed him. Sure Drizzt didn't want to fight, but that's besides the point. Artemis also tends to dull his skills down at times to make the fight more interesting, he tends to be less focused on killing Drizzt. Artemis has gotten past drizzt's defenses quite a few times in normal combat, but he allows the battle to continue. Don't get me wrong, Drizzt, of course, preforms brilliantly, but they are mostly equal in fighting skills. Also, they have not fought in quite a while. Don't forget that Artemis now wields Charon's Claw. All he'd have to do now is nick Drizzt on the arm and say "bye bye." And Artemis tends to draw first blood. That being said, if we were to take away magical items, I still think Artemis would win, as Artemis rarely used them against Drizzt while Drizzt had magical bracers. Two amazing swords. etc.
Right now, I think, if they both honestly wanted to kill each other, Artemis would be the victory. Most likely not by much. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Drizzt won.

Artemis won vs Drizzt in the silent blade? Did you not read the novel? He had a sword to his neck telling him that he should kill him but spared Artemis. Then after the Drow interfering, Drizzt was defeated. I do not know how you came the the conclusion that Artemis won that fight for even Drizzt clearly admitted in his diary of gayness, that he beat Artemis. Plus you have to factor in that, Drizzt's skill does not decrease with age, but on the contrare only increases. Where Artemis is getting slower and less agile. But I can guarntee that if Artemis had a few centuries on his back, like Drizzt does...Drizzt would be no more than some peasant in terms of skill. Drizzt is hundreads of somthing years old, Artemis is in his froties...and he rvials that of Drizzt. You can never beat time...and factor in that Artemis does not specialize in just close combat as Drizzt does..he is a assasin in shadows..if everything could be prepaired for the two as they saw fit...Artemis would undoublty have the upperhand of suprise to that of attacking from the shadows. But then again, if we do see Artemis again, and if they do fight, Salvantore is sure to make it a super even battle that is barely won. Once again fantasy novels are indeed fantasy for they do not relate to terms of a realistic setting and logic to what would actually happen if such situations such as these were to occur. Meaning, you will never see a hero slip and fall off a cliff by accident and thats the end of him/her. I sure you will tell me because it would be distastful to most readers, but at the same time you would enjoy reading because of unperdictablilty and not knowing or being able to guess the outcome of anything.

Aside from the fact that you forget he had his Orc Deity helping him. If Drizzt was helped from Lolth, it would be a different story. Not to mention how many orcs Drizzt HUNTED down and took a crap on thier face.

Drizzt's like 70 or 80 isn't he?

i'm not positive but i think he's in the early half of his second century of life, around 120 or so. That's just a guess though i don't recall him ever putting a number to his age in any of the books.

Also Artemis FTW in my oppinion. I was never a huge fan until the sell swords trilogy Artemis killing the draco-lich with that breath weapon trinket was one of the best fights i've read in a while.

Drizzt is in his mid-to-late seventies, or early eighties. He was 120 or so in the first printing of The Crystal Shard, but that age was later retconned to make Drizzt younger.

It hurts my head to read this.
First things first, I thought this was about Artemis and Drizzt
This is also very much inaccurate, unless you've been reading the orc version of some of these books.
I do agree that Obould in his current state can and would beat Drizzt, but it is not because he is king, its because he went through a ritual that effectively permanently upgraded him. He was able to throw around a frost giant.

Trying to say it has always been like this is to ignore the last time these two met. I recall a particular battle where Drizzt and a particular Blind ranger along with some animal companions, were able fight back an orc invasion that was orchastrated by Obould. At that time I recall Obould doing his best impression of Jessie Owens, and Running.

I would say more, but I may need a translation of "sallow".

1. how are snowgiants a harry potter, anything, snowgiants were around before the potter books, and i don't see a single thing about them that makes them "harry potter" like.
2. it's a panther not a 600lb fat ass cat, never in the description of gwenyvarr is she described at fat, rather she's ussually described as an all muscle killing machine, like most big cats are.
3.?????? Artemis didn't take down a kingdom, that was all Jarlaxel's plan and doing, Artemis was just a pawn in the plan for the most part. Even in killing the draco-lich, which was an amazing feat, he used a tool jarlaxel had given to him in the first place.
4. Profit!

1) Artimis and the drow were usually even matched, and artimis did all but win their last encounter, though he had psi help.

2) I like Artimis better, because as Beta always yells about, the good guys when alot, with artimis it's nice because he thinks like a bad buy, he may not follow through with some of it but you see the world from an assassin's point of view. also he has way cooler weapons, just wish he had more magical aperial, like a nifty little eyepatch...

QUESTION!

Are we talking about pre-Charon's Claw/That Curious Sword Artemis or post-Charon's Claw/That Curious Sword Artemis?

That Curious Sword spoiler:
In That Curious Sword Artemis drains the life/soul of a Shadovar who was after Charon's Claw (The Netherese artifact sword from Servant of the Shard) and is infused with shadow stuff, making him just as fast/tough if not tougher as he was younger, hinting as well as to extending his lifespan).

Barring outside help, I think Drizzt and Artemis were both equal in skill pre-Charon's Claw/That Curious Sword, since Drizzt was only able to win the duel in the crystal tower because of a fluke/random chance (chaos? blessing of Lolth maybe winkwink!?).

From The Silent Blade, after Drizzt won the duel:
"So what have we proven?" the drow demanded. "Because my head connected in a favorable place with yours, limiting your vision, I am the better fighter?"

Post-Charon's Claw/That Curious Sword, I'd have to say Artemis would be the victor in a straight up fight if they ever duel again. Charon's Claw gives Artemis enough edge to win.

Out of which character I like better, I'd have to say Artemis, but that may be because I found Road of the Patriarch a much better novel/story than The Orc King.

I don't think Cale could be described in a battle between Artemis or Drizzr because Paul Kemp lacks the "sword description" battles. He talks about rivens battles with a "Flashes of sword play", or cale doing a thrust. Where as salvantore has chapters devoted to sword play. I guess PaulKemp is a fairly new author to forgotten realms and has some time to get better.

I'd go so far as to say that 'ol Arty will discover more and more abilities as time moves on (and he has time to experiment). Just my theory. Others theorize that he only gained Netherese ancestry. Most Shadovar are normal humans, it's only the exceptional individuals that gain the benefits of the Shade template.

But Artemis's dagger sucked enough of the shadow stuff to change his skin tone. And it was a full fledged shade he killed as well. I wouldn't put it past RAS to change Artemis into a shade. I think it would kick a bit of ass to boot.

I don't hold either character as being better than the other. They're both awesome in their own special ways; Drizzt, I think, is the epitome of the image of adventurous hero, being one who has conquered a dark past that would have claimed or corrupted many; who thinks as well as he fights. But he is also human--and as evidenced by the Hunter's Blades Trilogy, can fall prey to his own anger as brutally as the next man. And I love how introspective he is--the "Musings of a Drow Ranger" essays are always interesting. Like I say, he thinks as well as he fights.

Artemis Entreri, on the other hand, is an awesome anti-hero/villain. At first he wasn't much more than a rival for Drizzt, and that was good enough for me at the time, but with the addition of The Silent Blade and the Sellswords trilogy, he's become more his own character rather than a simple foil for the hero. He's a turtle in a shell, and Jarlaxle's attempt to coax him out with Idalia's flute made for some interesting character development. Overall, I love Artemis Entreri's attitude, resourcefulness, and sheer badass factor.

The two characters tie, in my humble opinion. I know that Road of the Patriarch was supposed to be Entreri's swansong, but still, I'd love to read more about him (not to mention Jarlaxle, who despite being a walking bag of deus ex machinas, has a certain charm that I can't deny).

Only because Kimmuriel stepped in, which essentially screws up any fair comparison of their respective skills. Entreri was at a disadvantage, though, and had Kimmuriel not stepped in, Entreri would have lost.

What is a swangsong? Do you think Salvantore will let either of them kill each other? We all know Artemis isn't dead...if Wulfgar brough an uprising to being brough back from death...and that is his least popular character...there is no way fans will let Artemis go. Not that I can remember...and Jarlaxelle would be dead if Artemis found out. Or would be attempted to be killed that is. I am only suprised that somone of Drizzt reputation has spread word to Artemis, or that Jarlaxell is keeping a closed ear on Artemis.

Yeah, that's why I said "almost positive," I just remember reading through all three of the Sellswords wondering when Artemis will figure out that Drizzt is still alive. I don't recall Jarlaxle coming out and saying it because Artemis never really brought up Drizzt at all. The only reference to earlier novels I remember is when they were about to go back into the Underdark, and Artemis recalls how miserable it was down there.

Maybe it was brought up in one of the short stories?

As someone pointed out before, this depends on the timeframe you are comparing the two characters in.

Assuming we are comparing their latest incarnations - I would like to place Artemis as the better swordsman now.

Looking at their weoponry, Charon's Claw stands above both Icingdeath and Twinkle in power and abilities. As Drizzt's weapons seemed not to give any advantage previously, wheras Artemis has incorporated many of Charon's Claws abilities into his tactics e.g. ash wall, hiding from darkvision, one-hit kills.

Skill-wise it is hard to judge their respective abilities as they have not fought for some time. However if we measure their abilities by the challenges and enemies they have overcome since their departure (experience if you will;) )

Drizzt:-
After their last fight returned home, only to become involved in Ellifain's vendetta against him. Ellifain although clearly skilled was not a match for Drizzt in a straight fight, resorting to numerous magics and buffs to aid her. This tested Drizzt's adaptability to the max, resulting in a draw where both combatants were rendered close to death.

Drizzts next true challenge comes in the form of Obould, whom he fights on numerous occasions - overcome initially by Obould's impressive array of magic items, Drizzt must seek out more suitable equipment to bring obould to a even level. Drizzt nearly defeated by Obould 1v1 but saved(again) by outside forces.

Artemis:- After their last confrontation, Artemis went on to fight the owner of Charon's Claw and then Jarlaxle(with Crenishinibon) whilst in Calimsham. Artemis the links up with Cadderly to destroy the crystal Shard, fighting a powerful Red Dragon.

Artemis continues on to fight a Dracolich, almost singlehandedly and beating Athrogate the dwarf. Artemis crosses blades with one of the most powerful characters of the Bloodstone Lands Duke Olwen Forest-Friend and bested the ranger one on one.

I would say that Artemis has undergone tougher challenges than Drizzt, fighting off some truly epic opponents. Aswell as aquiring some impressive new equipment (Charon's Claw, red-stitched glove) he has also reversed his age by about 10 years whilst extending it greatly thanks to his dagger absorbing the essense of a shade.

If a showdown were to occur now I would put my money on Artemis, excluding writer bias of course.

--Please take this all with a pinch of salt as I personally prefer Artemis as a character.

I dont think Mr.Salvatore will either of them, for I don't think either will see the other ever again. Infact Ill be suprised if Artimis doesn't disappear, and we dont hear from him until his final scene, in which his own beating, and abbandonded child finds him and kills him in one of the most Ironic chapter of the realms history.

How was he at a disadvantage? I remember he had time to prepair and chosing the wepon he so desired long before Drizzt entered.

He was slowing down because of age. A minor disadvantage, but when you put two big-time swordswingers in a room together, those minor disadvantages count. And I'd hardly put weapon choice up as an advantage--Entreri just used the same old longsword/dagger combo he always goes with, as Drizzt used Twinkle and Icingdeath as always. The only advantage he had was a preview of the battle arena, and that didn't prove much of an advantage, as Drizzt was plenty adaptable to the terrain within Cryshal-Tirith.

As I said, the circumstances of the fight don't matter. Artemis standing, Drizzt lying and bleeding.

The circumstances of the fight do matter. The reason Entreri wanted to fight in the first place was to prove he was the better warrior, and Drizzt would have beaten him had Kimmuriel not stepped in. Which is why Entreri was so PO'd that Kimmuriel stepped in. He later rationalized that he really did win by allying himself with better allies, that the simple fact of his own survival as opposed to Drizzt's (apparent) demise was proof of his superiority, but that was just that--a rationalization. That Drizzt was the better fighter was still evident, and that is the point. It may not be true anymore--Entreri's youthful spring is back due to that shadowstuff thing, and he has Charon's Claw as well (I'm not counting the gauntlet here, as Drizzt doesn't use magic anyway), so he might be able to go against Drizzt with better results, but we won't know that unless Salvatore writes the two characters back into the mix together, so...

I think RAS will be writing more novels about Artemis and Jarlaxle. The potential is too ripe to leave be. If you think about it, the entire Sellswords series (and a couple of novels before hand too boot) was about Jarlaxle trying to cure Artemis of his obsession with fighting Drizzt. Artemis, for many years, couldn't move on, and was useless to Jarlaxle until he could put Drizzt behind him. He has now, and Jarlaxle has a very effective tool.

How Jarlaxle will exploit that tool is up in the air, but exploit it he will.

Last but not least: Artemis is my all time favorite NPC in the realms. But if he and Jarlaxle ever really tangled, I'm betting he'd be killed in pretty quick order, Charon's Claw or not. Jarlaxle has too many tricks up his sleeve and from the few times they've sparred, is Entreri's match with a pair of swords. People theorize that Drizzt may be favored of Lloth because no other character has thrown the drow into such chaos, and Lloth loves chaos. But I think that over the centuries Jarlaxle has sown more chaos in the drow than Drizzt ever could or will. And he's done it in a way that Lloth would appreciate: without garnering any blame. I think, despite being male Jarlaxle stands higher in Lloth's favor than 90% of drow.

If they really did tangle though, I think Jarlaxle would fight a holding action until he could calm Artemis down and win him back over to his side. He wouldn't want to kill a weapon as effective as Artemis unless there was no other alternative.

Just my :twocents: .

Anywho, I see RotP as an end to Artemis Entreri as we know him from The Sellswords. I think it's fair to say the next time we see him he'll have a reason for, well, living. What that reason exactly could be I have no idea.

Who knows? Eventually, though, he's going to have to find out that Drizzt is still out there. What with him becoming an ever more infamous being in the Realms... and when word filters south of the war with Obould, well, Drizzt's name is probably going to come down with it...

I wonder how the new Artemis Entreri would react to the knowledge? Would he take up the chase again? Or would he simply hunt down Jarlaxle and kill him for the deception? ...I'm betting he wouldn't do a thing, actually...

I've been reading the Drizzt saga for quite sometime and over the years, from reading as a kid in middle school to now being post-college, I have varied my stance on both characters.

Originally, I disliked Drizzt more than Artemis simply because he was good ... and youngsters tend to like "evil" more often than not simply because it's cool. However, as the years have progressed I have come to like Drizzt (although I still am reserved about his entourage at times). As of where we stand after the Sellswords and Orc King, I will say that both characters I have learned to like for their different personalities - both of which have grown quite a bit over the years.

We all know Drizzt. Good natured at heart, protective, caring, and someone who tries to look for the best in most situations - an optimist as he even stated himself to be recently. We are aware of how he truely thinks due to his "journal entries" and from those we tend to get a deeper glimpse of his character compared to the rest in Salvatore's novels. We see his emotions, his inner turmoil, his hopes, fears, as well as his stance on certain people and events. But in the end, Drizzt is a good guy. While he does at times revert to a more 'drow-like' state (he will sometimes kill people while some good characters would not) and he can be deceptive and also takes the instincive form of The Hunter. Bottom Line: Drizzt will always strive for a better world if not for the people around him more than himself.

Artemis has turned into more than just Drizzt's <formal> arch-enemy. To me, Salvatore has begun to shape Artemis into a character that Drizzt *could* have been. While Artemis originally sought only to best Drizzt, he seems to have moved past that point. He is in the process of finding out who he is. Confronting parts of his past that he once never thought to come back to, facing fears he left behind many years ago. As the Sellswords have shown, Artemis is changing - his personality and character evolving. But ... into what? At times he has shown far more compassion than the Artemis of old. He has even shown hints of jealousy and lust in the love department. Artemis has showed signs of sympathy as of late ... and at other times he maintains that ever cold and care-less-about-you persona. Honestly, he is more unpredictable than Drizzt and potentionally more dangerous. While Drizzt strives for the good around him, Artemis seems to strive more for the good of Artemis. I think in the long run Salvatore will make Artemis more "good" than "bad" but unlike Drizzt, Artemis will always use a more forceful, vile, and evil way to handle people and business and will always look for personal gain more than community gain.

As for their fighting? ... IMO Drizzt was the superior in terms of melee combat. I would say that if both were given a suit of normal armor and two regular non-enchanted weapons of their choosing, Drizzt could defeat Artemis. Of course this is purely opinion. I always believed Drizzt's need to protect others outweighed Entreri's personal desire to defeat Drizzt. While both were equal, I believe Drizzt has both more experience and training in combat. I am not comparing the two's ability to sneak, track, or get the jump on someone ... but rather than the two start 10 feet away from one another, face to face, and engage in combat with equal weapons.

After the Sellswords, I changed my stance. I feel Artemis has evolved somewhat. He has put Drizzt behind him and has begun to live life. I believe Artemis will always have a desire to "better" his combat skills while Drizzt does not share that same inner-desire. And in no way do Artemis' new magical acquisitions make him weaker than before. As above, with equal weapons in the past, I believe Drizzt would win. Currently, at the end of RotP and Orc King, I feel that if the two were to fight with their current mind-set and equipment, Artemis would better Drizzt. He would focus more on a fight than in the goal of killing Drizzt, freeing his mind more and making him less lust-driven, and with Charon's Claw and his hinted at shade-blood (longer life yay!), not to mention whatever other random magic accessories Jarlaxle and him have recovered/obtained/looted/pillaged/won ... I figure the next time they meet, Artemis new more live-free mindset and items would topple Drizzt. All opinion of course.

But just to throw Jarlaxle into the fray - I doubt either could best him in a fight with all items thrown in simply because Jarlaxle, as many have stated before me, just has far too many damned tricks up his sleeve ... or hat ... or eyepatch!

But honestly? Given hints we saw in the Orc King and the trilogy called "Transitions" and understanding the 100+ year future setting the books seem to be moving too, I would not be too uncertain if we see Drizzt's new entourage consisting of Jarlaxle and/or Artemis at some point down the road. We've seen Drizzt's deep desire to befriend fellow Dark Elves and his ability to make peace with old enemies not to mention Artemis seems to have evolved past his former obession for Drizzt. Ahhh. Just the thought! What a series of books it would be having those two at one anothers side - or at one anothers neck! And Jarlaxle!? Haha. Just food for thought!

My opinion anyway!

I would say that Charon's claw does give artemis enough edge to win but that does not mean that Charon's claw could kill drizzt with one hit, Charon's claw appears to be a weapon of fire, hence its ability to create ash and smoke as wells as it sear flesh and turn people into skeletons with bubblign flesh. It is possible that Drizzt's sword Icing Death may negate Charon's claw ability to simply kill him with a single nick, but Charon's claw does give Artemis a greater chance than he had before.

I don't know, but I think that Drizzt and Artemis will learn to respect one another and my even ally with one another. I haven't read the Orc King, so I don't know if Artemis found out Drizzt is alive (as I haven't read the Two Swords, either, and I'm in the middle of Road of the Patriarch). I really enjoyed when they allied in Streams of Silver, and because of this, I think that Streams of Silver is my favorite Drizzt book. Lately I've been ahving these flashbacks to the Icewind Dale trilogy because I read it at this time about a year ago, breathing the autumn air while reading on my front porch. I love the Icewind Dale trilogy...
Anyhow, I don't know if Salvatore will write another Entreri/Jarlaxle book or three (though i do hear of a book about Jarlaxle and Zaknafein and their early adventures), though I'd like to see it. I haven't even started the Two Swords because the Lone Drow exhausted me, and the beginning of the third book seems rather dull. I am currently reading Road of the Patriarch and I find that I enjoy Jarlaxle and Entreri more than the Companions of the Hall.
Contributing to the debate on who's 'better,' I'd say neither. Drizzt is a drow (natural superiority), Drizzt was in training since he was three (practically), and Drizzt had some amazing instructors. Artemis is human (inferior), has only been fighting for about 25-30 years, and was self taught on a lot of his techniques. Artemis is also stealthy, and you can argue that Drizzt is, too, but only because of his heritage.
In conclusion, I think that if Drizzt were human, he'd be dead of a) age and b) Artemis.
And as a side note, Artemis consumed the life of a shade in the short story That Curious Sword, so he is now bound to live as long as a dwarf or maybe even an elf. So no Artemis will die first because, saying that he has the life expectancy of an elf and that he's only forty something, and Drizzt is about 70 (before the Orc King)- that's a 30 year difference. Thirty years for Artemis to cough dust as he brags that he is the best living warrior until he falls over dead and Jarlaxle (somehow still alive- he'll find a way ;) ) loots his body.

I can say with certainty that Artemis doesn't have anything to do with either The Two Swords or The Orc King. Currently, he is not a factor at all in Drizzt's life.

I think it's mainly because he is likely still hanging out with Dwaeval, trying to make a new home and life for himself.

The only time I can remember Artemis getting close to winning was in Starless Night?. At this point Drizzt is on the run from Jarlaxal's men when Artemis comes out and is beating Drizzt with the fight finishing when they get hit with sleep arrows. Of course at this point Drizzt has been fighting and running for a period but still it is the closest he has got. So for pure skill Drizzt is the winner I think.

Apparently you must, as I think you are misinterpreting what is actually taking place there. As was stated those passages are thoughts, not written word. He'd most likely be hard pressed to recall much of what he has said in the past.

Additionally, what you call a diary, you could also refer to as a journal, if that makes it sound more "manly" for you. That's what I assume you are getting at. A diary is for little girls, and Drizzt is a pansy little girl right?

Many of the greatest minds in history kept detailed notes, and long winded thoughts on everyday life, so perhaps we should scoff at them in turn. I mean after all, at least Drizzt wields two swords flawlessly, what have they done beside paint, and harness Nuclear power ?

Indeed. Not only that, Drizzt hangs out with Dwarfs that sing and ramble on like an annoying 12 year old. When a dwarf of this status was introduced to Artemis, he could think nothing more than to kill him. Drizzt's party consist of a annoying 12 year old personailty like dwarf king...a human girl that was raised by stupid midget king. A barbarian that should have been dead, but was brought back only to always be emo with his "inner turmoil". Then you have your fat little halfling that is useless in everyway and a waste of pages in RAS books.

Now then, you got Aretmis's party. Consisting of masterminds, the most skilled warriors,mages,wizards,dracoliches/castles with unlimted undead. No one ever traveling with Artemis was useless...and if they were...he killed them. What a pimp.

Yes, Artemis Enteri's delightful collection of henchmen. A Flesh Golem, an Idiot mage, a treacherous guard, Cattie-Brie followed by Wererats, a bunch of Drow who hated him, the Crystal Shard, the Cast of The Cleric's Quintet (with the Bouldershoulder brothers), 2 Dragons, a bunch of people trying to kill him, and his bisexual insane lover (I don't mean Jarlaxle--- :rimshot: JK)

Dude, just about everything you say is biased agaist Drizzt so it would be alot better to present fact to back up what you say other than grumble about you not likeing a character.

First of Catti-Brie may be a human girl but she happens to kick alot of ass, if you ever read any of the hunters blade trilogy or Siege of Darkness you should already know that. She be slicing and dicing orc and drow alike.

May be a fat lil halfing, and I would agree that he is somwhat of a waste in RAS books but when he gets off his lazy ass he will find some way to fit in, somtimes it is picking off an orc here and setting traps but somtimes the logical thing to do is stay out of the way if you cant help.

Bruenor grumbles but he does not act like a 12 year old, he is far from useless but doesnt always play that big of a role.Dwarves are supposed to be slightly childish in that impatient grumbly way. Wulfgar I think salvatore shouldnt have killed him off in the first place, I didnt mind him dying but his story did kinda start to suck. I would say in the Hunters blade trilogy he starts to become that pimp N' Barbarian from Icewind dale.

Artemis is teamed up with Jarlaxle, and obviously since Jarlaxle is more awesome than Drizzt, Artemis, and half of Fareun combined. (Even better than Chuck Norris)

Why is it that you do this time and again EB?

You say you want to try and be a part of this community, and even go so far as to apologize time and again, saying you don't understand why people are annoyed with you. Well, look at your post in response to mine and you'll get your answer. Though I doubt very much that it will be made clear to you even then.

You are doing to Drizzt and co., what you claim people are doing to you. Making biased remarks without ground or merit.

The only difference is, what we ARE saying holds more water than you are willing to acknowledge. You may not be able to see your many faults, or simply may not wish to change them, but if that is the case you are not welcome here. That is not me saying this, this is an opinion shared by the majority of these forums whom have had to deal with you.

Perhaps however you would only understand us retaliating against you in the manner to which you are accustomed. Perhaps we should all add to our tags about how you like to prance about in pantyhose, and get your mother to tell you how "fabulous" you look in her maternity underwear.

If this is the course we have to take, I'm sure that we can flame you out, before you can come back with anything close to something articulate in response.

Continually, I find you an idiotic waste of pixels (that's right- little pixels), as Regis is not a waste of pages. You haven't been through hell, and rather than see the world from someone else's eyes, you confuse emo with alcoholism ( moron). Bruenor acts like he's twelve? You act eleven! (That's a year difference- I did the math for you so you can't screw anything else up). Cattie-brie's not stupid, you just couldn't think of anything else.
And Drizzt has sold hundreds of thousands of copies and you've sold nothing but hatred towards you from some super p*ssed forum jumpers.
Maybe if people like you went extinct (like in your name), then the world would be a better place. And let me guess- one person said that Drizzt was stupid, eh? So you have to be on the antagonistic side. And alternate orientations and religious beliefs automatically send you to Hell, and you have to get the deoderant with the funniest add (god knows you need it if your body is half as crappy as your mouth), and whatever that guy you stalked in high school ever said, you agreed with.
Go extinct, Beta- save us all.

Agreed (I know Wulfgar didn't technically die, but who knows if that was RAS's intent at the time he wrote Legacy)--but I like the way Wulfgar's story developed. Wulfgar changed the way a person does, unlike the other Companions of the Hall, who have remained very much the same over the past 20 books or so.

Hmm... Interesting. I've always wondered who would win, myself. Personally, I think it would be a stalemate, where they just keep fighting until niether can stand or lift his weapon. Yeah, Artemis might get in a fatal cut with that darn sword of his, which IMO is just a rip-off of Blackrazor, but Drizzt has youth and agility on his side. Maybe if they both had no magic items we'd see who the TRUE victor is.

Oh, and just for the record, I do like Artemis, but Drizzt will always be my one true FR love!! (Though Jarlaxle's startin to grow no me, too!!)

I keep having to pour dettol into my eyes after reading them, but cant seem to get enough! Ahhh, it burns me...:gah:

As for Artemis and Drizzt, hasnt this stand-off between the two 'greatest fighters in all of Faerun' lasted for long enough?
I, for one, cannot wait for a final confrontation. Mano-a-elfo.
Forget the magic weapons and items. Steel versus steel. Skill versus skill. To the death with no possibility for another come back or reunion.

Unfortunately, I am beginning to realise that I am being hopelessly naive in hoping that this Battle Royale takes place before Entreri, myself (or both) find ourselves in zimmer frames
