I've seen so many threads asking for links to a map I thought it would be a good idea to combine them all into one thread. Please post your requests for a map here, and please post replies. I'll copy all the links to a long list here in the first post.

Please help can people out with answering these requests  I'll try to help as well, but I know my own list of links is a bit limited. I will edit this first post to put all the new links in alphabetical order, so people can see links that have already been posted. Also please post links to any general maps sites not already listed. Thanks :)

If you spot a broken link please let me know.

Mankyle has very kindly sorted through all the FR products available as free fownloads from their archives, and is listing all the maps that can be found there.

New Section – MAPS IN FREE WOTC ARCHIVE PRODUCTS
Many, many thanks to Mankyle for this list.

Here is a partial list of all the maps that appear in the “Old Editions Downloads” from WOTC which can be found here. (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/downloads)
The maps which can be found in these products are:

Calimport (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr9589.zip) More than a dozen partial maps of Calimport. Each one of them details a different ward of the city. All come with map keys and a short description of what can be found in each point. Al maps are black and white.

Castle Spulzeer: (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr9544.zip) Here we can found the complete floorplans of Castle Spulzeer (located in Amn), and a very good quality (but black and white) map of Amn, with all the cities and important villages (page 26).

Cormanthyr, Empire of elves: (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr1165.zip) A complete (colour) map of the fabled city of Myth Drannor and a regional map of the dales region as it was before the fall of Myth Drannor. (they come in pieces, because they were poster maps).

Elminster's Ecologies, Appendix I: (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr9489.zip) This one has a very good map of the battle of Bones, near Anauroch, but black and white. Also a undead roses (some kind of necromantic vampiric flower that sap the life of all the nearby living creatures) maze’s plan.
In the section about the hill of lost souls we have the floor plans of a Fire Newt cave system, and a medium detailed map of the Pelleor plains (do not confuse with the Pellenor fields, they are not from the Forgotten Realms). ;)

Elminster's Ecologies, Appendix II: (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr9490.zip) First of all a regional map of the High Moor region. That’s every thing from the Forest of wyrms (south) to the graypeak mountains (north). This map shows the potential dangerous points called “Fire Marshes” that can be found in the High Moor.
The second map is kind of a political map wich shows the different zones of the high moor as they are under control of the different people which inhabit the high moor (it is, the zones of the high moor under control of the orcs, the hobgoblins, the goblins and the human barbarians.
The third map shows the zones where the different dragons of the high moor live. This is a very useful map.
The fourth map shows the floorplans of a lizardmen king located in the serpent hills. Not very detailed.
Fifth map shows the region of the high moor and the serpent hills with some tunnels whick run from the serpent hills to different locations.
The sixth map shows a the side section of the “Snake Pit”. The point where the leaders of the snake people of the serpent hill live. Again it is not a very detailed map.

For Duty and Deity: (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr9574.zip) This is and adventure book, but has a bad quality map of Azzagrat, the realm in the Abyss of the Demon Prince Graz’zt. (Page 33 of the document).
We can find also the map of the city of Samora, also located in one of the three layers that form this abyssal realm.
The third map shows an schematic view of the Zrintor, the viper forest, located near Zamora.
The fourth map is a b/w drawing of the city of Zelatar, another city of this abyssal realm and the place where Graz’zt lives.
The last map shows a very small plan of a cave system where the friend of the merchant is kept.

Gold and Glory: (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr9373.zip) We can find a very simple map of the realms (only shows the seas and lakes) with keys that show the places where the different mercenary companies are based.
The second map we can find here is a very simple black and white drawing of the easternmost coast of Maztica and Anchorome (the realms equivalent of North America).
The third drawing (I would’nt call this a “map”) shows an schematic of the Turnstone Pass battle, where the moonlight men defeated a very superior number of orcs.
(see the Mintiper Ballads in the WOTC page for more information).
The last drawing shows how the assault of Castle Spulzeer in Amn was performed by the Blue Boar Men.

How the miighty are fallen: (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr9541.zip) All the maps found in this product are black and white, but of a very high quality.
First we can find a city plan of Yeoman’s Loft, a netherese city where some spelljammers were based. (Black and white but good quality).
The second map depicts the southeastern region of Netheryl, where now the desert mouth mountains are. (Maybe can be used as points where old netherese ruins await to be found ).
The third map shows the center of one netherese city.
The fourth map shows the interior of a manor.
The fifth map shows the interior of one house.
The sixth map shows the interior of one undead filled castle.

Lands of Intrigue: (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr1159.zip) Lands of Intrigue: Maps in this product are black and white, but very dark and blurry, maybe due to the fact that have been scanned.
Here we can find complete city maps of Zazzespur, Velen, Myratma, Saradush and Darromar, caption city of Tethyr. All maps are dark and blurry but come with keys.
Next map shows the Duchies and counties of Tethyr. It’s kind of a political map, with different colours for the different counties and duchies.
The second part of this product speaks abount Amn. Here we can find maps of Riatavin, Grimmor, Eshpurta, Keczulla, Esmeltaran, Murann and Athkatla.
We can find also a map of the eastern coast of Maztica (very similar to that found in Gold and Glory).

We can find also a map of the Elkazar territories (Shilmista forest, Impresk and Shalane lakes,…..) with city maps of Llorbaukh.
The best map of this product is a black and white poster map of the imperial city of Shoonach.
At the end of this product we have some colour poster size maps of the sword coast, amn and tethyr.
We can find a medium detailed topographical map of Amn, Tethyr and Erlkazar, but that shows up to Cormyr, the Green Fields and the Lake of Dragons.

Dungeon Crawl, Undermountain, the lost level. Madgoth’s Castle: (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr9522.zip) A colour map of the lost level of Undermountain (with keys) and the Floorplans of Madgoths castle (with Keys).

The Marco Volo Trilogy (Depature, Journey and Arrival):
All maps are black and white and very high quality.
Marco Volo, Departure: (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr9444.zip) Floorplans of Mother Tathlorn’s House of Pleasure (Main Floor only). A map of the road from Waterdeep to the Way Inn. Map from the Way Inn (the village) and floorplans form the Way Inn (the inn).
Two encounter maps (One in Daggerford, one on the road).
Marco Volo, Journey: (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr9450.zip) : Very simple map of the western heartlands (only name of cities).Map of the Great Mother’s Abbey near berdusk (an abbey consecrated to Chauntea). A very bad quality (b/w) of Cormyr).
Marco Volo, Arrival: (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr9455.zip) A very simple map of the spiderhaunt woods, an encounter map in the spiderhaunt woods and floorplans of the eye fortress (some kind of magical construction).

I was wondering if there's any way to get that large map of FR again. One of my players "misplaced it" and I don't know the realms by heart. Please don't link me to an illegal scan though. :)

I would be very, very happy with a good, detailed map of the North (around the Spine of the World, and not maps from the "Drizzt books" because I already know those by heart...) and a map of Silverymoon and the lands around it.

The Skullport map shown below is out of the Skullport supplement 1999 (TSR11348/ISBN 0-7869-1348-7) by Joseph Wolf. The general map isn't that great, but there are detailed maps of each of the levels later in the book. The book is 96 pages/soft cover. You might see if you can find a copy. There is a description at http://www.sfsite.com/10b/sk67.htm.

There's a Waterdeep sourcebook coming, but it's gonna be a while...

I'd like a map of Everaska, please.

Or any other elven tree city. I posted this request on other boards, but didn't get much feedback. I've already checked out the other links posted so far, as well as the map-a-week things on the main site. Please! Need help! Session is Tuesday night and I've been going nuts trying to find one! (I'm wiped out map-wise after I made a hugely detailed manor house, dungeons beneath it, and extraplanar maze, most of which got bypasse by the pcs).

Thanks a lot for any help

i´m desperately looking for a map of schamedar, a coastal city of calimshan. it´s the location of the living gem- campaign (which is briefly told in the 2e- realms-box (among the events of 1368, iirc) and partially told in "empires of the shining sea".

i believe there is no canon map, i´d be grateful if someone made a decent homebrew...

How about a map of forgotten realms underwater sites
I would love to see a map that has just the water sites listed on them sort of like the underdark map.. though they didn't make a big pull out <sniff>

also any maps of places like the city of shade. other floating places?

But hey is there a map for the city that floats around the great hub real near the concordant oposition?

I am in need of a map of The Great Rift. Hopefuilly one that shows where in the realms it is. I am in a campaign that was started by another DM two years ago, the only one amongst us who owned the FRCS. We each bought different books to maximize our RP'ing dollar. When the DM left us over personal disputes, I was elected the new DM, and left with a quest to the Great Rift. Our campaign started in waterdeep at LVL1 we are now LVL15-17 and in chult, still trying to find the great rift. Problem is, I have no clue where the great rift is, let alone how to get there.

Ok, here's my problem, I need a good map of Westgate, the more details I can get the best... And also a map of Zhentil Keep... details details and more details....

All That because one of my PCs is rallying people (he's a fighter 14/ purple dragon knight 5) to an invasion of Zhentil Keep... he has already convinced the rest of the PCs in the party to do this, and they all want to do that...

I agreed, since they're already making plans for epic levels... I would like them to survive this quest... but if they don't it would be a glorious death... That's why I need Maps

Another PC has acquired the feat of Getting Into Troubles All The Time, he's a psychic Warrior/Soulknife/Monk, he's also 19th level and making plans for epic levels.

The Problem is that he's trying to slay at least one of the ruling vampire lords of the Night Masks, it's sort of his personal quest.

I would like to see him trying that... and I need more maps...

Could someone be so kind to give me links or pics of those two palces???

PLEASE???

There are lots of places where the full sized 2nd ed maps of Toril are posted, and a few with the 3rd ed. I can't post any links as these are all breaking copyright. If I was really, really mean I'd tell you your post is asking people to break copyright for you ;) but I realise you didn't know these maps aren't available for free.

I know it was asked at one point but I couldn't find an answer anywhere in the forum (other than reference to the inside cover of The Sorceror which is only an area map showing where Evereksa is in relation to the High Forest and Anauroch, etc.)

I really need a map of Evereska as I have player characters that want to get involved in defending Evereska from the Phaerimm (they are playing in the timeline just as this is occurring) but I need a more detailed map if one exists!

Big sis,

I think it would be a great Idea, if you(WoTC) sold all the BIG foldout maps from all the current 3ed stuff, along with the Super large blow up maps from the dragon mag. (maybye even a large map of the underdark, hint hint hint. The one in the book is so insy :(
something like what 10 large fold outs, and maybe condensed large fold out maps of the "snipits" found in the books of this place or that, like 2-5 of them... or just a bundle of large maps/foldouts from the 3ed line of dungeon.. it sure beats the heck outa tracking them down... my 2 cents at least.. :D

Well...

I do not know of Fan material but there is a rough map in the soft cover version of the first book of the WoftSQ series (Dissolution). It should also be in the Hard cover. It is more a view from above the cavern showing the various features of the city. I quite like it actually.

You can't use it for scaling the place, but at least it gives you an idea of what is where and is nicely drawn.

Since the soft cover book costs 6 euros, I guess it should be 5 dollars or so. Not really a major investment.

The book Underdark has a good map of all of Faerun to let you know about where cities are and there is a fairly detailed map of the Underdark in the North on a map in the Silver Marches supplement. Other than that the old 2E Menzoberranzan Box Set had a detailed map of that city. I am pretty sure that the Homeland novel by Salvatore also had a map of Menzoberranzan.

Can anyone give me a good map location for Eilistraee's Promenade? The only thing I have now is that it's four cavern's east and north of Skullport near a ruined city of Moanderites (??) and a ruined temple of Ghaunadaur, but it gives too few details to make out WHERE exactly this temple might be. I have the 2E Undermountain boxed set and i want to know if it's on the 3rd level map or not (physically visible?).

Hey where have all the other map hunters gone. Why isn’t anyone else posting answers here … just questions *weeps inconsolably in the corner*

Can I make a plea for you all to have a look at the map sites listed in the first site before you post a request? It’s a pain having to post links to a site I have already listed for you. I am really tempted not to do it, and not post my reply :(

Lady Claransa Trent … I can’t find any maps of the towns. Dlabraddath has maps of where these towns are here (http://myth-drannor.net/DlabraddathNet/z-Dlabraddath/Maproom.htm#Cormanthyr) Semberholme (http://myth-drannor.net/DlabraddathNet/z-semberholm/index.htm) has good descriptions in the communities section but no actual maps.

Lugburz I found a map in an excerpt from The Bloodstone Lands that details the East section of the Vaasa here (http://gabriel.cs.geneseo.edu/~plummer/Temple/pages/map.html)

Ironhawk there are a few maps in the Map-a-Week-Archives that could suit. (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mwa/archive2003)

Damien_Hiro if you tell me what region Durpari is in it would help a lot. Thanks.

Evereska … This is the Western Heartlands (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=fr/fx20020703rt) showing the general surrounds of Evereska.

Thayde Rythylaynne Here is a map of the The Unapproachable East (http://myth-drannor.net/DlabraddathNet/z-Dlabraddath/MapEast.htm) that could help. The “Shining South” sourcebook only has the old version.

[b] Lord Assamael Of Antioch[/bl] There is a map of the surrounds of Zhentil Keep here (http://myth-drannor.net/DlabraddathNet/z-Dlabraddath/mapMoonsea.htm) There is a plan of the keep itself here (http://www.forgottenkingdoms.com/maps/zhentkeep.jpg) You can download a map of Westgate here (http://www.raflar.com/fantasyrpg/downloads.html)

Hi!
I'm designing a website for my campaign and wanted to include some maps of where the action takes place.
Does the quote below mean that I can take any map from this site and include it in mine?
Just wanna make sure, because I know this is a delicate matter.
If the use of maps taken from this site is legal, could I also use other pictures as well (like puctures taken from the "art gallery" features)?
Can I edit the pictures? Like adding locales and routes to maps or edit pictures from art gallery in order to use them as background graphics.

I'd appreciate any advise you can give me.

Heggie I have had to remove your links to the French Language site. That site openly breaks copyright, in both the map section and the galleries where you found the city. This means we can't include it in posts or the main links list. I am not blaiming you in any way ... there is nothing on the site to indicate it's breaking copyright.

Does anyone know where to find maps of the Dwarven Kingdoms, both above ground and below? The Great Rift, Citadels Adbar and Felbarr, and any others I can't think of just now? Also, any detailed maps of the Stonelands north of Cormyr? I also cast my vote that Wizards put out a book of maps of the Realms. I know I would by it. I'm sure the people who perfer Greyhawk would like a book of maps for that setting as well.

BigSister, are there at least "soon-to-become-canon" coastal outlines available of the Toril continent(s) other than Faerûn?

If the globe ot Toril project takes off, it will need some input, and it would be nice if we could, as a community, at least have some idea of the outlines and location of these continents. Faerûn is pretty obviously a northern hemishpere continent and most of us know what to put there in unexplored lands which we might want to develop, but if a Faerûnian Age of Exploration is about to begin (which it should, following the discovery of Maztica), many DMs may want to begin sketching out what they think the other continents hold. It was a big surprise on both sides when Colombus met the Arawaks (and the Caribs!), and Pizarro and Cortez met the Inca and the Mexicans. A Toril with one or more other continents as vast as Faerûn opens up a wide vista for gaming, with much potential OGL contribution.

Please guide us to the WOTC chief of exploration and cartography, BigSis, pretty please with molasses on top?

Though it doesn't include the Great Rift or any other dwarven hold outside the North, the Silver Marches book has a map of Mithril Hall, Felbarr, and Citadel Adbar, though the are not as good as I would like. They should still give you a feel for the three dwarven holds! As well, the 1E FR Encyclopedia (I think that is what it is called) has a good map of Mithril Hall.

Other than that I have no idea where to turn.

Ok I have a question. Do any of you remember the FR Atlas CD that is no longer supported? Does that mean that the material in that CD can be shared? I bought the program a long time ago so I'm not asking for it. I was just wondering if I'm able to share the multitude of maps that it contains. To be honest I think I have almost EVERY map except for the few new ones that are used in the new products. Having all those maps at my fingertips makes things so much easier for me.

My understanding is that you can only share material that has already been offered for free. For example if maps are part of free downloads or articles on the WotC site then it's ok to post them. If you still have to pay to own material (like the FR Interactive Atlas) then even if you can't get hold of it to buy you still can't post it.

I am trying to place Deadsnows from the Blood & GOld Adventure in the SIlver Marches book

I have seen several of the maps of the north mentioned on this thread, but I cannot pinpoint the general location.

I am believeing it is location in the north western section of the Nether Mountains on the south side of the highway that runs through Sundabar to Ascore, and on into Aunoroch <sp?>. I believe it is located south of the Arn Forest.

This is all from memory and looking at the various maps that are posted on this thread, which btw are AWESOME!

This is my best guess....

One of the best places I know of for maps of castles is at Profantasy - Profantasy Software (http://www.profantasy.com/) . They have a bunch for free on the site, and they used to have a free map viewer so you didn't need their software to use them. I'm not sure if they still have it though, it's worth looking into it. I have some of their software and it works fine, you can even export the maps in jpeg format, also in bmp too, I think. Good luck.

Hello! :)

I'm trying to make a game with the NWN Aurora toolset set in Thentia on the northern shore of the Moonsea.

I've managed to find some information on the city by searching the net, like some of the places and people that live there, but I don't have a map of it. :(

Does anyone know if such a map has been made, and where I could get it?

Also, I saw that Thentia has been discussed by Elminster (Elminster speaks) in two "lectures", but it looks like these are no longer archived. Is it still possible to get hold of these?

Thank you for any help! :)

WizO_BigSister, I have scoured the net fairly far and wide for you....and turned up a heaping pile of copyright violations. Also, could you clarify for me what you mean by "...or openly published on the net for free use are not allowed!"

You want some maps that are fan created, not scanned from material that is not free AND not openly published on the net for free use? I understand that you have a job to do, but I have to believe that I am misinterpreting what you mean. A lot of these links go to fan created sites with maps that are "openly published on the net for free use" so help an exhausted mind right now. I'm sure once you provide the answer I'll slap myself on the head and say d'oh

On a completely unrelated note, what is your avatar? I feel like I've seen that picture before somewhere.

As I'm playing a gnome druid (Mielikke as his Deity) now from the Unicorn Run (South of the Star Mounts, High Forest) and I'm having a bit of a trouble picturing the place, I'd love to see a map or picture of the place (or something similar). There are many maps to be found displaying the High Forest, but not the Unicorn Run in particular.

The FR CS book states the following:

"Those who venture far upriver say the land becomes broken and fissured, the trees creating tunnels (?) and near-caverns (?), but that the Run cuts through them in slow, wide loops (?) and curves that have carved cliffs and gorges. these are the fabled Sisters, and those who've seen them swear they are the most beautiful place in all Faerun."

Any pictures of the Unicorn Run or similar sites that will give me a better impression of how the region looks like are very welcome.

Thanks in advance,

~Snowbleach.

Download the Free Map Viewer (http://www.profantasy.com/library/dpv.asp) from Profantasy, then use it to view the Campaign Mapper map of the north from
Candlekeep Map Section (http://candlekeep.com/) (in Alaundo's library). The river on the bottom left that starts in the Star Mountains is the Unicorn run. The zoom allows you to get a good close up view.

For those of you who speak spanish here is, maybe, the best map of all.

A PDF of the entire realms (in spanish) which allows an unbelieveable zoom.

After talking with BigSys, I changed the link so nobody complains telling this link is illegal. This map comes from the official publishers of DnD in spain.
The following link is the publisher's homepage.

Devir Spain Homepage (Official Publishers of Dnd in Spain, Portugal and Brazil) (http://www.devir.es)

You must then click where it reads ROL (Role Playing Games), then Dungeons and Dragons.
In the following page go for the left bar, where it read "Libros de Master" (Books for the Dungeon Masters), and then "Reinos Olvidados" (Forgotten Realms).
Then comes the complete list of all the forgotten realms products published by Devir in Spain. The first one, where it reads "Escenario de Campaña" (Campaign Setting), is the one we want.
After clinking on it, you will find an hypeling just before the price. There are two versions: one in PDF, one in JPG.

Hope you enjoy it.

Sorry but I can't find anything for Hillsfar or Ascore. I did discover Ascore is a system of mapping or measuring landmarks so my Google search was a nightmare
There may be some NWN fan modules set in Hillsfar, but I don't understand the module creation system enough to find the maps

I've added the Spanish FR map and the Dundjinni Mapping site to the main list.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For Burning666
The best options are:

Under Illefarn. A 1st edition module set near Daggerford, which has the complete floorplans of an entire Dwarven city (12 maps).
You can get it as a pdf for a couple of bucks in many Web pages. (Just Type "Under Illefarn" in Google).

Stronghold Builders Book. Has the floorplans of an small size Dwarven Stronghold. One of the best parts of the book IMHO. I have used it IMC to depict an abandoned Dwarven stronghold located under the easternmost peak of the star mounts, in the High forest.

Other maps that can be used are those that appear under the description of the Fee'ry in the LOD book. This one has been released:
Map of an abandoned Dwarven post. Lords of Darkness Excerpt (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20010112)

Hi

I would like to have a map over Suzail, with names of important buildings like: taverns, churches, museums, castles etc. That would be very fine, I would like it with colour, but if not them I just go Black & White.

Thanks

A Chosen of Mystra when you post a link to a map it would be very useful if you gave us a link to the site which hosts the map, or at least the name of the person who has put it on the web. I need to check if the map is legal and doesn't break copyright, and it also helps us if we can list any other maps posted by the same person.

These are some links I found, could see if they have been copyrighted... But maybe someone could help me, im going to research it a little more. But it looks great! For those of you who wanted a map of the city of Ascore, on the westernmost part of Anauroch, there is a very bad quality map at the end of "The Savage Frontier" (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/downloads)

There you can also find maps of:
Luskan, the city of sails.
Silverymoon
The dungeon below "The Granfather Tree"
Hellgate Keep (before its destruction)
and a handful of other maps.

BTW, BigSys, the link to that document appears to be broken. :weep: Could you warn the people in charge so they can repair the link or something.

UHMMM! :plotting:

I really think we should summarize and make a list of all the maps that appear in the "Old Editions Downloads". I'll see what I can do.

I'll try to post the rest of the map content of these products ASAP. :ayyyy!:

Hi, I was wondering if you've got a detailed map of Velprintalar: the City of the Shining Crown, Capital of Aglarond and home of the Simbul. It is the principle setting for a game I am planning, and as it is an urban setting I can't rely on just going "In the woods...". I need a street layout to really aid the game. I am good at doing drama and character development, but architecture and city planning escape me. I'd really appreciate this leg-up. Thanks

There are lots of places where the full sized 2nd ed maps of Toril are posted, and a few with the 3rd ed. I can't post any links as these are all breaking copyright. There are maps of Ten Towns and the Icewind dale int "The North".

Most of the information come from the Icewind Dale Trilogy, so read them carefully.

I think (I'm not sure) there were some maps of the Ten Towns in the Forgotten Realms Atlas (By Karen Wynn Fonstadt). Try to find this book if you want information about Icewind Dale.

Can I pretty, pretty please ask you all to check first couple of posts in this thread BEFORE asking for a map. You'll find a complete list of all the maps posted so far, plus a lot of sites that contain several maps. It does get a bit depressing when people ask for the same maps over and over ... makes us feel that all the work we have done amalgamating the map lists was a waste of time because people just don't read it :weep:

Don't look for info on out-of-print material in the FR General forums ... in the FAQ and Information forum there is a thread called Out Of Print ~ Information & Sources (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?p=5234863#post5234863) Believe it or not this is where to find information about out of print books and where to find them ;)

Sorry, Big Sis. Apparently in my haste to try out my new account, I failed to mention that I'd already looked through many of the listed links, including the one for "out-of-print" material. Based on everything I've seen, it appears that there are no "official" city maps for Chessentan cities. But if anyone has or knows of a fan-created map, especially of Cimbar, I'd be interested. Thanks again.

Hi, Benpret.
You might want to try looking through the D&D Archives, under the Map-A-Week articles. There were many, many various dungeon and site maps there.

Regarding the "Ten Towns" Maps, you can find maps of almost all of these towns in the "Forgotten Realms Atlas" by Karen Wynn Fonstadt.
I don't know in the US but here in Spain it has been reprinted at least three times.
There you can find maps of the Moonshae islands, and Northern and central Faerûn.

It was an expensive book and most of the information it comes with is really outdated. Nevertheless is an outstanding book. (Her Middle Earth and Dragonlance book are also awesome).

Three weeks ago Karen Wynn Fonstadt passed on due to severe complications derived from breast cancer.
As you may know she was the writer of many excelent cartography books including "Atlas of the Forgotten Realms", Atlas of the Dragonlance", Atlas of Middle Earth" and "Atlas of Pern".

Thank you Karen, your books helped us to push our imagination.

I'm currently hunting for updated maps of the following cities and there surrounding Moon Sea areas.

Hulburg - (the ruins, keep, the Vault of the dead/Lich Chamber and the Wreck of the Reaver)

Sulasspryn - (over all ruins and potential tunnels to the underdark)

I also need general maps of Thar and the Galena Mountains/Vaasa by the Moon Sea.

Lastly, while not looking for a map I need help Identifying an offical FR supplement map. I have tried finding the area it is cannonly located in, in the FR IA, but none of the town names pull up nor the desert region names. If its alright i'll post some of the names below and other info on it. I would love to buy the supplement this originated.

printed in 1992 TSR, Inc

a large 8 panel fold out desert map, looks like the capital is Michaca (michaca city of gold, and the pasocada basin), there are many Desert dwarve locations (Rockjaw clan and Sandbeard clan), as well as Elf-Clans of Poscadar, and "animal name" tribe listings. It looks like the main desert areas are settled by the Dog people (a tribe?) and called the "Sands of Itzcala". If anyone needs anymore info PM me or if this violates anything please remove this part of the post.

Two things.

1. The Map Request.

a. Citadel Felbarr. Urgent. I have a campaign taking place here.
b. Westgate. Not Urgent, but wanted. I'm building a campaign here.
c. Iriaebor. Icing on the cake. I have two poorly rendered maps & want better.

2. Cartographer?

I really like Christopher West's work and wish WotC would contract with him to build updated maps of various cities and regions throughout Faerun. If not him, somebody! Please! Otherwise, I wish the WotC would update Volo's CD-ROM guide to Faerun. (It's 2E and good for some areas, but is so darn incomplete that it's frustrating to use. MOST frustrating.

greymouse there are plenty of sites all over the net that have English versions of the various maps of Faerun. the trouble is that none of them have actually got permission to post these maps ... they are breaking copyright and are illegal. Bottom line - they are thieves, stealing other people's work rather than using it with their permission. WotC will not allow you to post links to a page that breaks copyright, and if anyone does then I will have to delete it.

Um, okay, I have a few here, so I'll just write them as a list:

1. Undermountain
2. Waterdeep
3. The Yawning Portal
4. Calimshan (any city there)
5. Cormanthor
6. Myth Drannor
7. Baldur's Gate

If there are no maps for some of these places, that's cool, I'll make my own.

Oh, and if I made a map, could I submit it to WotC to see if they would make it official? Just curious...

Please direct me to a link for a medium or high resolution jpg of the "Great Ruins of Shoonach" poster map from Lands of Intrigue. It is included in the PDF, but sliced up into pieces. If there is an assembled version somewhere, I'd like to download it. I've been trying to buy the boxed set so that I can have the original poster, but I'm always outbid for it -- I'm only willing to pay so much for it since I have the color map already and all of the text is in the free PDF from the WOTC downloads page (and BigSis's post at the top of this thread).

Hello. I don't know if this has been asked before or not (didn't really have time to read the whole thread), so I apologize in advance if it has.

Anyways, I am looking for the new Faerûn and Underdark maps in a large, print-friendly scale, however, I need them blank. By blank I mean with no text or roads at all. No markings, no cities, and preferably without the map keys and compass rose–in other words, just the plain drawing.

The thing is that I need it in spanish and the actual map translations for the spanish version suck big, fat, hairy, donkey balls.

I see that WotC has shared parts of the maps in this form, but they are either incomplete or so tiny it's laughable (like the underdark one), so I am not sure how much of a copyright infringement that would be.

A blank fan-made map consistent with the updates would work great, too... I have the Interactive Forgotten Realms Atlas and could use that to translate all the names, but the maps for that one are old and not up do date with the changes made for the 3E version of the Faerûn map.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I rememeber some 20 years ago I seen a map of this region that had many places listed in very high quality detail...

Places I recall being there: Oasis of the White Palm, Oasis Akbar, Tomb of Martek, Cursed City of Medinat, City of Terbaker, Pyramid of Amun Re, Mobius Tower of Time, Crystal Minaret Palace, a big massive sucking vortex to the abyss, ancient temples to Anu, Set, Seker, Isis, Crypt of Badr-al mosak, many othe rurins, Sunken Garden/Canal City of Pazar, Lost City of Pheonix, Glass seas "places weere massive magical basttles with fire have turned the sand to glass", nameless crypts with gates to lower planar worlds, even drow slavers roaming the region, even a massive undead army, led by a former demi-power who was supposedly a vizer to the the effreti god the Sultan of Fire ..... I also recall monsters so powerfull that they have been known to even have eaten mulhorandi god-kings alive, I think they were like living sandstorms, and powerfull brown dragons

As you'll note in a post high above, I was also in search once of Felbar. Directly from WotC, the information I got was that (a) no such map exists and (b) no such map has been envisioned.

My guess is that you'll have the same problem with Adbar and Mithral Hall.

I ended creating my own version of Felbarr using a variety of maps - modified to suit my needs. If you want copies, PM me your e-mail address and I can send them to you.

Try searching for the old Menzoberranzan Computer game. I think one of the last levels was House Do'Urden in Menzoberranzan.

Bay the way. Is there any map of Secomber out there?

For those of you who wanted a map of the city of Ascore, on the westernmost part of Anauroch, there is a very bad quality map at the end of "The Savage Frontier (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr9233.zip)"

There you can also find maps of:
Luskan, the city of sails.
Silverymoon
The dungeon below "The Granfather Tree"
Hellgate Keep (before its destruction)
and a handful of other maps.

Hi All,

It appears that the Dual Scimitars map page is off line.
When clicking on the link it takes me to the host registration page. Can anyone guide me to similar links or maps.

I'm playing a guide to the party somewhere along the Sword Coast and a map of the region would be most helpful.

I need a map of the "unclaimed/unsettled" area east of Amn and Tethyr. I've been looking for a map that includes the Shilmista, Snowflake Mountains, The Deepwash, Cloven Mountains, Deepwing Mountains, Winterwood, Thornwood, and the southern tip of the Shining Plains. I've founds maps that show some or part of this area, but I need a map that covers all this, particularly one that centers on the Snowflake Mountains, Cloven Mountains, and the foothills inbetween. Yeah, yeah, I know that in Faerun this is considered unsettled frontier and hardly anyone lives there (precisely why I my campaign is based there!). And I know this is probably why I can't find detailed map of this area anywhere. But the campaign I've been working on for a year (it's a labor of love) is due to start in 2 weeks and all I need is a map, for the love of God! I guess I COULD draw one, but that is a last resort because my cartography skills are wretched. My maps end up looking like football plays on a locker room chalkboard.

It's nice, _but_ the yawning portal is 40 feet wide... The map of yawning portal inn in Exp. to Undermountain lacks not only the portal inside the inn, the inn is too small to fit the portal.

MarkusTay63

10-09-07, 03:22 PM
I use Photoshop.

I started with the big FR map available for FREE here at WotC (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ag/20060607a), and 'nudge' stuff around so it better fits with the lore on older maps. I also 'pasted' the K-T maps (what a nightmare!) to the end of the continent, and the Zakharan one below it. I did most of the Hordelands map (http://markustay.deviantart.com/art/The-Endless-Wastes-66917291) by hand, because I needed to 'stitch' the two very different maps together. The Zakharan one was actually much easier. For the terrain I just 'draw over' the existing map with the textures from the newer 3e maps.

All of my maps are already part of a much larger one. When I post one I take a 'snapshot' of one part of it and add a scale and compass rose, and occasionally a Map Key for the larger ones.

Almost all the city maps were done back in 1e & 2e, and were included in the Forgotten Realms Interactive Atlas, which I have, and Hlondeth wasn't in there. I checked the most recent source, Serpent Kingdoms, and although the city gets a decent write-up, there is no map.

I don't think ANY cities were mapped in 3e - the few maps that did appear were from older sources (like Waterdeep). :(

There is a rather interesting Old Thread (http://forums.gleemax.com/wotc_archive/index.php/t-727559.html) about it, though. ;)

Exactly the kind of product WotC SHOULD be producing but refuses to.

They make the products THEY want, not what WE want.

Fortunately, dedicated fans like the one who created the Waterdeep Map will keep the real Realms alive. :)

Olostin's Hold - I don't think there was an official one, and I've tried to track down the fan-made one that went with This Site (http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=35969), to no avail.

WARNING!!! Do not click on the links in that article I just linked - just read the article. The link is a dead end, and makes my Virus-protection software go Nutz! -Can't think of anything off-hand. Did you try a web search, firstly?

There are 2 maps I'd like.

Westgate - Current as of 1372 DR, done in a similar fashion as the Waterdeep maps

Baldur's Gate - also current as of 1372 DR, also done in a similar fashion as the Waterdeep maps

Those are the big cities I tend to use most :)

Ok, so recently I found myself wanting a bit of good-ole-dwarven-fun and so I set out to create a Dwarven campaign set in the Silver Marches of the FR.
This is where some problems arise, mainly I can't find a decent writeup or map of Citadel Adbar( the one in the "Silver Marches" is by far inadequate...) and so I was wondering weather anyone has EVER seen a Citadel Adbar map, or even Citadel Felbar?
I do poses a very fancy map of Mithral Hall, and Silvermoon which do come in handy, however some more locations are missing, namely Everlund and Sundabar.

So to sum up, if anyone has any maps or good materials regarding:

Citadel Adbar, Citadel Felbar, Everlund or Sundabar please share them!

Thank you!

-I'm pretty sure that the Silver Marches sourcebook has what you're looking for. If not all of the above, then some.

-As I side note, I need to pick through the bones of this old thread, and see what maps are still around and useful.

Most of the links are long deceased, so I wouldn't have my hopes up >< Btw, thanks for the silver marches reference. It is wonderful.

-Yeah, I know. But, if there's anything of relative worth...

Nope - all the maps have been removed until I receive a formal apology from WotC.
