| Caemun12-30-07, 02:01 PM | Hey, I am new to these boards, but I think I am putting this the right place. I'm looking for the newest novels / campaign settings / maps on cities on the west coast of Faerün. Mainly the larger cities, such as Calimport, Athkatla, Waterdeep, Neverwinter, Luskan etc. For the moment however, the most important one I need is Athkatla. I'm DMing an online campaign and I am about as rusty as it gets here, I'm no stranger to Forgotten Realms, but let's just say it's been a while. Hope to hear back from anyone who might be able to help. Online sources would be most preferable, but if there is a book, campaign setting or some such that's a got-to-have then please, do recommend one. Thanks, in advance. |

Not all lore gets outdated, and the best resource on Amn is probably an old one: Lands of Intrigue, which is actually available for free downloading on this very website (check under Classic Downloads). |
| Old Sage12-30-07, 06:33 PM | Calimport hasn't received much in the way of a 3e update. Steven Schend's Calimport accessory and the Empires of the Shining Sea boxed set remain worthwhile sources on this region. There's also some brief new tidbits in 3e's Lost Empires of Faerūn. Athkatla's received a few brief updated references here and there. Though the most appropriate sources for the City of Coin remain both the boxed set Rino mentioned above (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/downloads), and Ed Greenwood's Volo's Guide to Baldur's Gate II, which covers the city in quite extensive detail. Some of the major aspects of Waterdeep received a 3.5e update in Eric Boyd's City of Splendors: Waterdeep. Additionally, Steven Schend's City of Splendors and Ed Greenwood's Volo's Guide to Waterdeep are wonderful 2e sources on the city. See Ed and Elaine's The City of Splendors novel as well. Luskan and Neverwinter also received some brief 3e treatment in Silver Marches. And in Lost Empires of Faerūn. You'll find detailed maps for most of the places you're asking about, in several of the sources I've mentioned. |

Not necessarily, it was just as you pointed out, so that it would be the most up-to-date info I'd be getting. I will have to check that out then. |
