GothicDan 03-09-07, 04:51 PM	The only in-depth source there's been on Dwarves was 1E's Dwarves Deep.... And Ed has never been big on giving specific levels of characters. And, of course, Dwarves even in 2E couldn't be very high level Clerics. I think 11-13 was the max.

Satted in HL as a level 20 cleric of Deneir (and was the chosen priest of Deneir). And that's before the Spirit Soaring was complete. Personally, I'd go with about 22-24 levels in Favored Soul, and add the Chosen Template to him, for an ECL of 26-28.

ravennight 03-10-07, 12:30 PM	I would agree with the comment that most of the highest level clerics are probably not written in canon, especially since there are few descriptions of the head of churches. The Patriarch of Oghma for example, or the High Scrivenor of Deneir... Also, with the number of adventuring priests that aren't offiliated with a single temple, I would think there are some very powerful clerics walking around somewhere.
GothicDan 03-10-07, 12:47 PM	And note that since Faerunian culture is polytheistic, those 'church heads' aren't always named, and even then, sometimes aren't even considered the 'head' of the clergy. They're just titles more often, unless directly granted by the deity him/herself.

Don't ask me how this works, I haven't had the time to play catchup and read this book. The Silver Marches, however, does have a 17th level High Priest of one of the Dwarven Deities, and unless I miss my guess, there is still a high old one of Dumathoin in in Undermountain.

That's right, he's an essence. -Hey, I happen to be a bodiless, floating essence...;) -But anyway, Lady of Poison doesn't really give me that impression. When we last saw him, his side was pierced by a shining horn, as he was "drinking in" Lurue's light. Then, he is gone after the darkness and light fade away. A Contingency Teleport back to where ever could easily explain how this happened, and where he is these days.

No wonder how my uncle Unelas is so good (he was one of her few students :cool:), after all, she is the best battlecaster I've seen in my long elven life (wich still has long centuries, that Artblade does wonders to life).

My current PC is an aasimar cleric following the Risen Sun heresy*, and the campaign is centred in Elversult :) Since I'm only 2nd level, I've yet to meet the Sunmaster. But I peek at him from behind the crowd :cool: * Talk about penalising a character twice: LA +1 and a feat that allows you to worship a diety :P Luckily, we use the UA LA buy-off rules :)

Was a little on the epic side, and he was a Morninglord of Lathander putting down the blashphemers before they could pull off their little stunt... was a really amusing fight considering he had 3 levels on the heretic, and still very nearly got his head handed to him on a golden platter. Kinda miss that campaign at times really...

Lord Mortanius 04-08-07, 08:09 AM	Baron Vjurn Blacktower is a high level Necrophant in the Crypt of the Arisen Army, so he probably qualifies as a high level cleric. There's also a 17th level priestess of Velsharoon in one of the 3e books (Underdark?).
