| Evandar_TAybara04-17-07, 08:57 PM | Are there any good sources out there for the lands of Impiltur & Damara? I noticed that although it appears in the Unapproachable East section of the FRCS, Impiltur is not listed as being in the book of that name (which I do not possess) as for that publicaton the Unapproachable East is defined as the lands between the Sunrise Mountains and the Easting Reach, which Impiltur lies just west of. I don't need too much info, just a bit more detail on the geography of those lands that isn't covered in the FRCS, especially the area around the Earthwood. Evan. |
| ZCalibur04-17-07, 09:18 PM | All that's currently out there as a source for the Frozen North (as far as I know) is a AD&D book called the "Bloodstone Lands". This continues to sadden me to no end as Damara is my favorite location on Faerun for running adventures. I hope beyond hope that Wizards of the Coast comes out with a sourcebook soon for Damara, Vassa, and Impiltur as well as the geographical locations near them (such as the Galena Mountains and the Earthwood forest). |
| Old Sage04-17-07, 09:19 PM | The best information for Impiltur can be found by weaving together scattered references from the following products:- Dreams of Red Wizards The Bloodstone Lands Sea of Fallen Stars Champions of Ruin and Champions of Valor -- Eric told us that he sees the Impiltur sections in both as a convenient mini-setting for Impiltur campaigns DRAGON #277 - "Soargar's Legacy" -- George's detailing, with a little Impilturan lore, of these important weapons for the realm DRAGON #346 - George's main 'Impiltur' article Unapproachable East (last chapter) FRCS -- And finally, my-soon-to-be-completed (like everything else I'm offering up to Candlekeep) compilation of ALL of Krash's "Impiltur" posts made both at Candlekeep and at WotC through the years. ... For Damara... Races of Faerūn, The Bloodstone Lands, FRCS, the "Bloodstone" modules, and Lost Empires of Faerūn. |
| Evandar_TAybara04-17-07, 10:04 PM | Eugh. I was hoping this wouldn't be the case. Oh, well. I'll have to do some research! But just to get me going, can anyone tell me the name of the lake that lies just south of the Earthwood? Evan. |
| Old Sage04-17-07, 10:15 PM | That would be Lake Icemelt. |
| Crowdosi04-19-07, 10:17 AM | You may also want to check out the "Northern Journey" project on Candlekeep. It's a large campaign arc that eventually leads through Impiltur and Damara and includes complete (though not official WotC canon) sourcebooks on both Impiltur and Damara as well as the Bloodstone Lands and the Great Dale. The complete campaign from start to finish is well over 1000 pages. |
