My D&D campaign has been going well... lasting about 1/2 a year. The group is getting interested in traveling out of Faerun, and into Kara-Tur. The most information given in the book is that it is ruled by evil warlords and has vast jungles, tall mountains, and vicious tribes. No map is given or any general information on dominating races. From the description I believe that the majority is evil... but I need more ;) I can't find a single book with any bit of more information, is there any? Has anybody made anything on their own? I need some help :)

Its far from completely evil, although it does have it's nasties just like any other part of Toril. The balance between good and evil is about the same as elsewhere, but the evil in the East has a more 'exotic' flavor, so perhaps the alieness of it makes it appear 'more evil'.

You can download The Horde boxed set for FREE here at WotC; (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/downloads) thats the region that connects Faerūn to Kara-Tur, so you will need to travel through it.

You can also find Ronin Challenge on that list, which includes info and a map of SW Kara-Tur (the Larang Valley region); that book also acts as the 2e update to the 1e K-T boxed set.

You can find a map for the Horde region HERE (http://candlekeep.com/library/maps.htm#TorilMaps), near the bottom of the page. I should have an updated version of that up any day now.

Lastly, you can purchase the Kara-Tur boxed set as a download for a mere $4 (http://paizo.com/store/brand/forgottenRealms/roleplayingGames/1stEdition/v5748btpy7mcy&source=search) - a bargain by any stretch of the imagination.

I should also have a completed 3e K-T map done by Christmas, which will also be available over at Candlekeep in the Map Room.

-The Kara-Tur boxed set, combined with 3e Oriental Adventures should be plenty. The Kara-Tur Box Set provides all off (Well, let me rephrase that: a lot of) the lore of the area, and the 3e Oriental Adventures provides all those technical things- classes, spells, races, monsters, etc.

The Grand History of the Realms has a handful of new timeline events concerning Kara-Tur.

...

For the most part, it was being left to future DRAGON articles [unlikely now given the cancellation of the DRAGON and DUNGEON Magazines] and the odd occasional references in sourcebooks and novels to carry forward any lore about Kara-Tur -- such as Unapproachable East and The Yellow Silk. Elements of Kara-Tur received a 3e update back in Jan. 04, in DRAGON #315. And a couple of regions in Kara-Tur also received a brief nod in "The Horde" article of DRAGON #349 and its associated PDF supplement from paizo.com:- http://paizo.com/dragonissues/349/DR349_Supplement.pdf

Other than that, keep watching Candlekeep for a future Compendium release [early next year] which will devote a significant number of its pages to new lore about Kara-Tur and other elements indicative of that particular region of Toril.
