-In 2e, Arilyn was a 9th Level Fighter. Nowadays, she'll be a bit higher than that. I do not believe that she has actual, official 3e stats.

Try looking at Green Giant's Realms NPC Characters posts. They're pretty much on the mark when it comes to they're stats and magical items

IIRC, she is statted in the Waterdeep: CoS book--I'm at work, so don't have the exact info here, but she was 10th level altogether.

BTW, when I first read that, I said "No way!", but then remembered an incident toward the end of The Dream Spheres that would explain why she's not higher level than that.

CG female half-moon elf rogue 1/fighter 4/Harper agent 5

Looking at her AD&D statistics (Heroes Lorebook), to some degree I do not completely understand the Harper agent levels, as opposed to more levels in fighter or rogue. Members of the Harpers are not required to have any levels in any actual Harper prestige class, and in Arilyn's case the "new and improved 3.5" Harper agent is a somewhat poor choice given her lack of spellcasting ability.

In 3.0, the Harper scout had a small list of spells as well as an inbuilt spells per day progression. Nothing particularly powerful or flashy, but which did give the scout access to spells necessary for subterfuge in a magical world.

In 3.5 the Harper agent (it's replacement) does not have it's own spell list or it's own spell progression, but rather grants you +1 level in an existing spellcasting class. Which in Arilyn's case is an empty and useless ability, which basically means she is paying more (fighter has more feats, better BAB, and better HD; rogue has better skills and better abilities) and receiving less (empty spellcasting levels) by having so many levels in this prestige class.

Basically, the optimistic interpretation of the statistics is that Arilyn becomes more knowledgeable, skillful, and less likely to die from traps or magical hazards (saving throws, abilities that boost saving throws, etc). However, compared to her previous edition incarnation she is a weaker physical combatant.

Unless Elaine wrote the shortform statistics, or unless Arilyn was known in novels for other aptitudes beyond swordplay (in this case bard/rogue archetype skills, lore, and being blessed by Tymora, Deneir, Lurue, and Mystra), then I suppose it makes sense (I have not [yet] read novel series featuring Arilyn). However, from the more narrow perspective of converting NPCs from AD&D to 3E/3.5 I find her new incarnation a bit perplexing.

-Arilyn does not carry the blessings of Tymora, Deneir, Lurue, or Mystra. She is, however, quite "Roguish".
