| Mr. Master08-14-07, 06:18 PM | Hello,I'm a 3.0 DM whose campaign is focused on a group of 4 heroes fighting against shadovars' evil plots and protecting Cormyr.I'm at the end of this wonderful campaign (the last adventure will bring the heroes from 20th to 21st level),but I have got some problems in ending it. The problem is that I'm looking for something dangerous (for Cormyr and Faerun itself)that shadovars can do and that,at the same time,my players can stop, even if with a nearly epic quest. If successful, the players will reach 21st level,Cormyr and Faerun itself will be saved and the shadovars will be defeated...for the moment, since they will survive (perhaps just to be faced again with subsequent epic adventures,if my players will change their mind and decide to continue to play after 20th level). Can you suggest me something in the shadovar's history and culture that can be used against them in this way? I was thinking about a sort of ritual with which they could create a permanent link between the Shadow Plane and the Materiale Plane. If successfully accomplished, this would give them tremendous powers. The players must stop the ritual by performing a counter-ritual in the Citadel of Splendour, the misterious place that lies at the heart of the Shadow Plane. However, this citadel is veeeeery difficult to find and it's protected by Hadrhune and its elite shadovar forces...If the players will succeed in their ritual, the shadovars won't be able to create their link and, moreover, they will receive a tremendous disadvantage (perhaps loosing their shadow based powers...which in the end would be an advantage, since they would be no more linked to darkness...). What do you think about this idea? Thanks for your help.:) |
