| E'tii'stil Shadowsil01-19-08, 09:15 AM | The soft click of a hand crossbow became audible as the magical silence was dispelled. The tip dripped a virulent venom and the shaft was white bone. It throbbed vomit green in the muted light. Aefandyln almost bodily threw himself to one side to avoid the attack, feeling the displaced air as the bolt clattered loudly against a supporting column, crumbling as did everything in that forsaken ruin. He worked his hands in mystic passes, tracing esoteric runes in the very air and incanted a string of arcane syllables. Power sighed and rippled and Aefandyln was oddly aware of a disconcerting and discomforting sensation. The walls of the planes themselves shifted and loosed, almost as if a thousand thousand Aefandylns were conjuring the same spell in a thousand thousand different realities... An alternate Forgotten Realms or Mirrorverse Faerun. Enjoy! :) Alustriel (LE): The hateful Alustriel is among the Realms most deplorable and unspeakably vile villains. Incapable of forgiving any slight, Alustriel carries herself with a rankling holier than thou attitude. She is the bitter queen, the unforgiving. She is acerbic and abrasive and her tongue is a viper poised ever ready to strike. Her manner is brusque, always cold. She brooks no insults, suffers no one to naysay her and hates everyone on sight. She commands the alliance of Drossnoon, in reality a collection of bandits and thieves who prey upon the weak and unfortunate. Alustriel is a woman of legendary beauty, with tarnished silver hair and an imperious haughty build. Her face is emotionless, unfeeling, amongst like a statue given life. Manshoon (CG): The wizard Manshoon was once a poor peasant boy denied the joys of a carefree childhood and knew loss at a young age. His parents were enslaved by the Hharperim and he became an orphan, hungry and cold, destitute and desperately lonely. He taught himself how to read and write from scraps of paper, and eventually discovered the remains of spellbooks, parts of which were still readable, unconsumed by the fires the Hharperim set to destroy knowledge. While he never forgave the Hharperim he always looked to the brighter side of life and became very much an optimistic, full of life and vigor. In time he mastered the arcane secrets hidden in the spellbooks and become a vigilante, opposing slavery and the Harperium at every turn. Eventually he came across Fzoul Chembryl and the two became fast friends. Wisely realising that two people wasn't enough to combat the evil in the world, he and Fzoul formed an organisation of likeminded heroes. Calling themselves the Zhentarim or Zhenters they seek to bring light to darkness, bring hope to the forlorn and strive to do good in the world. Drizzt Do'urden (LE): Mourned in his homeland of Menzoberranzan, the acidically sarcastic Drizzt is among the greatest losses of that fair jewel. He forsook and denied the ways of his benevolent race and instead ventured to the surface to bring tyranny to the peoples of the realms under the sun. The black-hearted Driz'zt is an accomplished assassin and slaver. He seeks to shackle the bodies of others through chains while deeply cutting them emotionally through his scathing words. His fighting technique is beautiful to behold and utterly deadly to encounter. It is a terrible shame how one so gifted could be so evil and unrepentant. Khelben Arunsun (CE): The ever cackling Khelben is insane. His hair is wild and his powerful body is always moving to a rhythm only he can comprehend. His eyes are feverish with madness and spittle often gathers at his lips and drool descends from his mouth. Despite this, he is among the most potent arcane spellcasters in the Realms, easily cowering many would-be detractors or foes. He is given to destructive evocations or necromantic rituals but prefers to repeatedly bash others over the head with his minor artifiact, the Blackstaff. He is open and smiling most of the time but this is always to engineered to lull others into a false sense of security so that he may scour others all the more quicker from the face of Faerun. He schemes but prefers to destroy, delighting in the destructive display of arcana. |
| Lord Karsus01-19-08, 10:41 AM | -Alustriel sounds very much like how I would envision Galadriel, had she accepted and been corrupted by the One Ring. -May I add a few? Cormyr: An imperialistic empire headed by the petty Empress Alusair. Like her father, the cowardly Azoun IV, Alusair distances herself from the daily struggles and toils that the people of her empire suffer daily. Caladnei, the sinister wizardess known as the Dusk Mage, is the true ruler of Cormyr, controlling the petty Alusair like a pupeteer controls his dummy. Cormyr is declining, and rapidly. Corruption is extremely common, officials are extremely inept, and those who express any kind of dissatisfaction towards Cormyr of the Empress are sent to secret work camps all around the Moonsea region. Sembia: A fledgeling nation that recently declared it's independence from Cormyr. Headed by various Thief-Kings, who steal from the rich and distribute it to the poor, Sembia stands in direct opposition of Cormyr. Sembian warriors, who are fiercely loyal to their kings and country, constantly skirmish with the inept Cormyran army. Thay: Located within a verdant and lush valley, Thay is an anthema for mages. The people of Thay, descended from the people of Unther and Mulhorand, learned from the mistakes of their ancestors, and believe that magic can only lead one down a path of ruin. As such, they activley discourage the use of magic within their valley, and punish those who use it. Mulhorand: Long ago, the ancient Imaskari were invaded by a foreign people from another world. These people, known as the Mulhorandi, far outclassed the relativley weak nation of Imaskar. Long ago, the Mulhorandi had been forsaken by their deities, as they native home was destroyed due to natural disasters. The homeless Mulhorandi gave up the worship of these deities, and turned to the Arcane arts, instead. Turning into a magocracy, the Mulhorandi people set out of eliminate the all deities from the multiverse, one world at a time. They traveled from world to world, conquering and destroying all traces of the culture they destroyed, particularly reveling in destroying all traces of their deities. |
| MarkusTay6301-19-08, 12:52 PM | Wasn't this done before? I had Larloch and Szass Tam as 'significant others', and they ran an interior design firm, or some such. I wonder what happened to that thread... |

I wonder what happened to that thread... -Yes, I vaguely recall that. Check your suscribed thread history, of you don't clear it every so often. It should still be there, though, G-d knows what thread that was actually in, with the random and innane banter that goes on in most threads. |
