| The_Shaman06-29-07, 06:17 AM | IIRC no, at least none is detailed. However, you can insert necropolitans in several places. The Realms are quite open in that regard. My favourite would be the cult of Jergal: Faiths and Pantheons mentions that some of his followers, especially the scriveners of doom (archivist-type monks of a sort) sometimes seek "church-sponsored undeath" to continue their duties. Since most of them are not suitable for lichdom, and many forms of undead have urges that probably detract from their duties, I think the necropolitan template suits them perfectly. The faith is a rather small one, but iirc it is gaining some ground in Thay. If nothing else, the cult of Jergal is a good place to ask for answers: unlike the Kelemvorites, they do not have a kill-on-sight policy towards undead, and for a cult venerating a deity of death, they are rather benign. |
| Panurg06-29-07, 06:18 AM | As far as I know they are not mentioned. But feel free to create one, thoguh they surely would be low to mid level villains. Why would a mage beeing able to transform into a lich or vampire transform himself into a Necropolitan? Perhaps a curse or something like that ...:plotting: |

I was thinking that it could also be possible for member of the cult of the dragon considering their agenda and the fact that many of them worship velsharoon. |
| ericlboyd06-29-07, 08:22 AM | I've always thought that necropolitans were Shoonite mages from the reign of Necroqysar Shoon IV (I think that's the right number.) --Eric |
| BadCatMan06-29-07, 08:41 AM | I've been planning to re-envision Warlock's Crypt as an undead city with Larloch as it's ruler. (The place is after all the near-complete ruin of a fallen Netherese city.) I might very well put Necropolitans there. |
