Necroscoper in the Realms [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-09-07, 09:48 AM Is there such a thing as a necroscoper in the realms? You know...like a feral child, but instead of animals, when he was young he was befriended with ghosts and evil and good spirits.

08-10-07, 02:18 PM Its been a while since I read it, but Zulkir Lauzoril's child in the Simbul's Gift I think portrayed some tendencies towards seeing undead spirits and such. Don't know if that helps much.

-first, Lumley kicks ass, Dragosani especially, respect
-2nd, i just finished reading "Unclean" literally last night, immersed in Thay, the zulkirs, lots of undead (really liked the national law of reanimation conscription from local populace)
-and g/f is playing a Clr 6 Jegalite <sp?> (related Jergal/Kelemvor post recently too) whom recently took Spirit Sense (heroes of horror) which is pretty much necroscoping (communication post mortem w/out employing Speak w/ Dead)

08-11-07, 12:10 PM Hmmmm....I've only read book one in Necroscope. It was pretty cool too. I like the idea on how he battled with the necromancer. The necromancer forces souls to create an undead army through the use of magic, while the necroscoper on the other hand is aided by willing undead.

08-11-07, 12:26 PM A living child living in a haunted house with ghost parents and grandparents. Eery... but fitting. The parents tragic death did not stop them from performing their parental duties. The child seems to talk to itself for outsiders. See invisibility reveals the ghostly family. Consider this stolen.

P.S. make the child a sorcerous wild mage prodigy for extra fun and the reason he sees them normally.

08-13-07, 06:51 AM I dunno, I could see it becoming a cleric-master of shrouds. Crying out "Mommy!" and summoning a dread wraith can go a long way towards creepy.

"Alone? No, no, they are all here, Margie and Jake and Susie and Mel and Steve, oh, and the smaller ones, too. Do you want to meet them? They want to meet you. They say that you are so nice, they want to play with you. They want to be around you so very much. Please let them play with you, okay?"

Have a weird-looking child say this to you as a pack of smallish, half-shaped shadows appear and tell me you didn't shiver.

08-14-07, 06:34 AM Actually the kid on the necroscope book I read was a businessman. He was the protagonist however, and he battled with a vampire necromancer who tortures spirit of the dead to get them to give what he wants. The kid summons up a huge undead army and the vampire defends himself with normal humans on a big place filled with bunkers.

Bullets swish out from all directions and artillery tear the undead scourge, but the kids minions were far too many. [spoiler\] In the end the kid died coz he was just human and he got hit by a shotgun [spoiler\]
