| chrono966510-12-07, 12:20 AM | Okay, so in the campaign I DM my players are getting pretty close to epic and I wanted to reward them with noble titles from evermeet. Specifically, they would be getting these titles for returning the Warblade to evermeet. the obvious one is elf-friend. But i was thinking of making one of the in charge of a small library of realms knowledge and giving him special access to important information. another I wanted to make something equivalent to a knight, and the other two i wanted to actually give noble titles. But I ran into this problem where I can't seem to find any sort of social hierarchy to the elven court. Does anyone know how the noble houses work or how titles are passed down in elven society. I know there must be some sort of hierarchy after all countess Sarya Dlargradeth has a title. Any response would be most appreciated. |
| Lord Karsus10-12-07, 12:25 AM | -There isn't a strict hierarchy, per se. You won't find a list, that's for sure. Maybe I'll head over to the 'Keep, and see if Ed will answer this question, as I certainly have a stake in it. -As for the nobility...What exactly are you looking for? |
| chrono966510-12-07, 02:34 PM | Well I need 4 different titles The first is for an aasimar cleric of illmater with the saint template. -I wanted to give him the title of elf-friend and some sort of position or office, nothing he could pass on to descendents but basically something special, like chancellor of the northern library of such and such. The second is an elf rogue/fighter/Justice of wield and woe. -I want him to be some sort of knight, basically be called sir and need to show up with a regiment in times of war. The third is a young half-elf sorcerous/cleric/mystic theurge from a minor noble family -I just want o give her a small noble title like courtier, or Lady, so that she can be accepted by her full-blooded elven relatives. The last is a character that has been trying to restore his families noble status (it was stripped when they decided to side with the Vyshanti during the last crown war) -I just wanted to give him some lands and something equivelent to a count or so. |

Should they, there are no specific titles that a librarian would hold. Loremaster, something general like that, should do. The second is an elf rogue/fighter/Justice of wield and woe. -I want him to be some sort of knight, basically be called sir and need to show up with a regiment in times of war. -Absolutely not. Because this character is a member of the Eldreth Veluuthra, he/she would not be tolerated in most places on Evermeet, especially if the character makes his/her allegiances known. The third is a young half-elf sorcerous/cleric/mystic theurge from a minor noble family -I just want o give her a small noble title like courtier, or Lady, so that she can be accepted by her full-blooded elven relatives. -The Elven word for 'Young Noble Girl' is 'Etriel', and the term for 'Noble Lady' is 'Etrielle'. Use whichever works. The last is a character that has been trying to restore his families noble status (it was stripped when they decided to side with the Vyshanti during the last crown war) -I just wanted to give him some lands and something equivelent to a count or so. -The Elven term 'Quess' can be translated as 'An Honorable Elven Male', which chould do. |
| chrono966510-14-07, 01:44 AM | Thank you so much that helps a bundle. The Justice of wield and woe would most certainly be warned about keeping his allegiances under wraps while in evermeet. but in my campaign the veleuruth are much more of a mercenary band for hire than the ideals they spout would have you believe. As for the saint well he is a saint and it will be a very remote and small library, its more like they've been trying to get someone to do it since the last guy died and no one really wants it type of thing. Again thank you so much. |
| Lord Karsus10-14-07, 01:58 AM | -No problemo. Hope your campaign works out. |

| Puritan1310-14-07, 03:13 AM | -It did, and I do. At least I know who to bring all my Elven Lore questions to now. Seriously, that was a bit impressive. |
