Offical Stats on Q'arlynd Melarn? [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-20-07, 09:31 PM Hello fellow LP readers, alas I have fallen short myself in uncovering many details of this humours and quickly developing char. I figured that if he didnt specalize in Evoc, then he got some spell focus's in evocation and illusion (he used alot and I meen alot of invisabilaty). I also figured that he had either a ring of wizardy II, or III because of his extended usage of both lightning bolt and invisabilaty. Also I didnt think he got past the 16th or 17th lvl myself, though he might have dipped into Archmage for one level. so maybe 15wiz/1arch, not sure though.

Plz if anybody has found this guy's stats then please let me know were or PM them to me, ty. Or if you want through out Idea's on what you think he proabably has, magic items, spells memorized, and feats plz feel free, this is an open board.

09-21-07, 11:33 AM -I'd peg him somewhere around 10th level, maybe a little higher.

09-21-07, 12:13 PM We do not have any official stats and you may indeed ask Lisa about him over at Candlekeep. I'd place him - as all these "heroes" that popped out of no-where are pretty powerful - like Halisstra 'round about lvl 17 or 18. That could be a misconception though, as he does not cast that many high level spells, so a wiz 15 would suffice too.

09-21-07, 06:27 PM Oops.. ya I didnt look at the wizard spell advancement chart. I guess he doesnt need to be that high of a level to get his 2nd and 3rd level spell up. Thinks, Ill try to make him closer to speck now. Probably goin with lvl 13, and he gets all the niffty magic Items like a House Insignia, but Ill have to look through all the other books to see if he has any other magic items.

Oh just thought of them, Master Ring and one Slave Ring.

Ring Of Ancient Lore, Greater: (self named; after his school) acts as a Master Ring to all surrounding Rings of Ancient Lore, Lesser, Also all Ancient Lore Rings share a telepathic bond, be them Greater or Lesser. ( I think there's one more enchantment on this but can't for the life of me remeber what it is)
Moderate Enchantment and Moderate Divination; CL 12th; Forge Ring, Bestow Curse, Detect thoughts, Dominate Person, Telepathy; and thats all I got, Ill comb the books for wands and whatnot latter.

09-21-07, 10:42 PM The highest spell I remember him casting in the novels was teleport, maybe teleport without error since he seems to be pretty accurate with it. I'd peg him around level 14.
The only items I noticed him using were slave rings, a house insignia that granted levitation, the rings he bound his students to and now sel'kiira.

An elven lorestone. They are descirbed in Magic of Faerūn or Lost Empires methinks.

09-22-07, 06:48 AM oh ya, well I didn't want to describe those for two reasons 1) I dont know anything really about them 2) What I dont know of them I dont know more about high magic.

Just remembered, he had a Wand of Orb of Ice, Greater. Good choice if you ask me.

09-22-07, 01:54 PM Given Q'arlynd's skill at teleportation and the sheer number of times he uses it on any given day, I would give him all three levels of the Wayfarer Guide PrC. He might lose a caster level, but he makes up for it with an extra teleportation.

He might also have the innate spell feat for teleportation or the Dimensional Jaunt feat from Complete Mage.

09-22-07, 02:20 PM I only know one thing for sure, he is above tenth lvl, I only know this because he made Invisabilaty permanent on the dead body of the priestess of Elistree in the first book of LP. But i guess I figured him above that anyway.

PS. I dont know that PrC, what book is it in.
