Please don't laugh too hard at me please [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-07-07, 03:42 AM I finally figured out this stupid computer's problem I need to ask some refresher questions and this crowd has to know the answers if any one does. I have a strong grasp if the abc's of faerie characters, but some of this has been debated for the 30 years i've played off and on. I know most elves have only one child. I need to look beyond that. the father in this is a wood or grey elf and this is set in a sancuary temple yet small village. the population soars for the week of a festival honoring dagda (plot point) he makes a mass zealot type agreement to protect (bad by only word) the village to honor the temple the village erected in his honor and well that's the jist. Part of the reason I am forced to ask this way is every sinle d&d book, modual, folio and paper we had of over 25 + years. the other reason is that my DMG, MMs and everything else mysteriously vanished with help for one of my three boys.

1. I have 2 sisters that are three to four years apart, elven raised orpahned human mom and elven dad. what kind of natural bond do the sisters have?

2. are there any rites or ceremonies for sibling relationships? arethere any that could be modified for something simialr. i want these two to make a bloodpack (in the human sense) some special ceremony they choose to have.

3. how rare are multiple births? (twin/triplets) i'm not meaning the diley sextuplets. i've only seen 1 pair of twins and never more.

4. elven curse words i'm sure exist, but can't find. I need the head strong sister to make the comment "f him. i couldn't care less. he can go to h word or f word himself" she is to the point of beserker rage at the time

5. yes this is related, what is the ugliest known creature? again same sisters. if you do that again I'll beat you like an ugly_________ and yes i'm looking for the redundancy in that statement.

6. does a human wife take her elven husband's last name? his kids? what would have her adopted parents called her as a child? would they have had a special ceremony or rite when they took her in? would she still have had a nameing ceremony. I need the dad to be pretty young. i need mom and dad "like" each other when she's about 14-15. married by her 18-19. what age would maturiy level in half elves be eqivalent to 17-18? what age would she actually be able to have a child?(plot point)

7 is there a good source for colloqueal anger phases & equivelant? love poem cadences? etc.. the normal everyday stuff

-There is nothing in canon that says that. If anything, with the amount of..."reveling" that Elves do, Elves are probably more likely to have multiple children. Queen Amlauril, for instance, had around ten.

-Is this a riddle? Well, if they are sisters, then they probably have a sibling bond, which varies greatly, as demonstrated in real life.

-Blood oaths and similar things are fairly common around the Realms. Off the top of my head, the former ruled of Ched Nesad and her brother both took part in the mysterious "Spidersblood Pact", or something to that effect.

-No, in the one case of an Elf adopting another being (in this case, a Half-Elf), there was no sort of pomp or anything.

what age would maturiy level in half elves be eqivalent to 17-18? what age would she actually be able to have a child?(plot point)

-Half-Elves age roughly twice as slow as Humans. So, a 17-18 year old Half-Elf would be the equivalent, roughly, of a 12-14 year old child. At the beginning of life, there isn't much of a difference, but as the Half-Elf ages, the lag becomes more noticable.

-I'm going to venture out on a limb, and say that you do, whether you believe yourself or not.

Dagda's Promise - When their village is attacked by Scalper the Thief King, Rhowena and her little sister Dove escape by accident of absence. Bent on revenge Rhowena picks up her father's ranger sword and begins a quest for justice. Dove was training to be a cleric like her mother and joined her sister tracking down the Thief King and reclaim the Holy Seplicur their village guarded for Dagda. In her journey Rhowena meets an eclectic cavelcade of characters like Tyrr de Saloz, a human warblade; an obnoxious dwarf , Wolfgang Ironballs; Brynmarm, a happly-go-lucky young halfling bard; Dorulin, an archer that's half-elf and full bad attitude all with axes to grind with Scalper of their own. The unlikely companions band together on the quest for revenge and become friends along the way.

04-09-07, 06:51 PM There is around 1/80 or so chance of occurence of twins in human gestation, and you should multiply the ratio by another 1/80 for every additional child - AFAIK, I've read this awhile ago but it was just a popular science article in a teen magazine. However, I have heard that twins in elven and many other races are somewhat rarer (I think it might have been implied in RoFaerun), but it might be just my interpretation.
