Realms History Since the ToT - A Primer [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-03-07, 03:24 PM I am in need of a history update since the Time of Troubles.

I was out of the Realms for a few years and I'm starting to get back in the swing of things. I'm reading here about events like Fey attacks on Evermeet and the Shadow Weave and Shar and I feel like a time traveler that's been sent an unknown number of years in the future and my context is all messed up.

I haven't read many of the novels lately and I want to, but I'm just not sure in what order to read them in order to get a sense of the events since the ToT.

Any direction in the best order to read the novels or a simple chronology would be wonderful!

04-03-07, 08:09 PM I suggest you head over to Candlekeep and download A Grand History of the Realms (http://candlekeep.com/downloads/grandhistory.zip) by Brian R James. This free PDF compilation of Realms history should provide you with a decent outline of events from the end of the Time of Troubles to the events of last year .

Note also, that a fully official [i]Grand History tome will be published later this year by WotC containing, not only some of the original content from this particular PDF, but additional pieces of Realmslore and new additions to the history outline itself.

04-05-07, 07:57 PM Now what I would like to know is in which year(s) did the event of the original Neverwinter Nights campaign take place and in what year(s) does/ do the events of the Neverwinter Nights II campaign take place.

04-06-07, 07:03 AM Pretty sure that isn't counted in canon actually. Open up the toolset on the OC for both though, should give a date in module properties if I recall correctly. Could be campaign properties for NWN2 though, not sure, been a while since I opened up the toolset to look at that stuff.
