I don't know If I spelled it right but, I noticed he mentions he is a devoted gamer. I wonder why he doesn't join this forum. Maybe hes already on the forum as one of you? I just always see RAS or Kemp saying they are more devoted to writting than gaming, so it would be cool to get him on here since he actually takes RPG seriously.

-You answered your own question- "maybe hes already on the forum as one of [us]".

-If you ever need to get in touch with him, you can do so at Candlekeep.

I have the pleasure of working with Byers each year at a local gaming convention in Tampa, FL and I'll just say that this guy gives me the little bit of faith that I have in 4th edition FR. Seriously, he is a devoted gamer, all around good guy, and I honestly think it is more professional of him to just kick back, do his thing, and let us rant/rave/and vent without getting involved. He knows a lot but he ain't sayin' a word and I can respect that.

~Shrugs~ Just my thought.

I agree. I wouldn't expect any author to response to this thread, in fact.

I thought Bruce Cordell authored Stardeep.

I like his The Rage trilogy. I just wished he didnt kill Pavel Shemov. Also, you gotta love his background on Raryn Snowstealer

I wasn't much a fan of the Rage, largely because of the primary PCs' races, 'cultures,' and attitudes. They seemed a bit incongruent to me. But the plots and action seemed okay for the most part, if that's your primary sort of thing. I'm more into character development and dialog, which admittedly isn't the focus of sword and sorcery.

I liked that he tried to include actual D&D game content into his novels (for example the Draconomicon PRCs in the Rage novels). The only disappointment is that you would be hard pressed to reenact those battles in the game. Normally dragons would be much stronger than those wimps in the novel.
