| Warning01-06-08, 03:09 PM | Why isn't Elminster invloved in the Twilight War series? He is a "Good guy", So one would assume he would want to help. Also that the War is taking place in his gerneral area. And the fact that he is powerful enough to do so. I remember in ShadowBred, Rivalens brother was trying to scry on Elminster, even though he had avoided actually being seen. But that goes to show that he is very much there and the shade enclave was trying to keep an eye on him. And for that sake, if they are intrested in Elminster, does that mean that they could pose a formidable threat to Elminster, or could he just wipe them out? |

| Warning01-06-08, 04:43 PM | How do we know Elminster isn't involved behind the scenes? Why would someone that powerful just be "behind the scenes?" If anything, he would be THE scene. |
| Ody_Saraph_of_Karsus01-06-08, 04:51 PM | In FRCS(pg 7.) states: "The strongest of Mystra's Chosen rarely moves directly against his foes, prefering to work through younger and more vigorous heroes." |
| sfdragon01-06-08, 04:51 PM | because when your that powerful, your to much a target |
| Warning01-06-08, 04:55 PM | because when your that powerful, your to much a target Ok, hes so powerful, he refuses to help the world and just let's it go to crap. Great hero you got there Ed Greenwood. |
| Ody_Saraph_of_Karsus01-06-08, 05:14 PM | Again....In FRCS(pg 7.) states: "The strongest of Mystra's Chosen rarely moves directly against his foes, prefering to work through younger and more vigorous heroes." |
| XHereticX01-06-08, 05:35 PM | Ok, hes so powerful, he refuses to help the world and just let's it go to crap. Great hero you got there Ed Greenwood. Its the same concept as the gods. When you get too powerful, you sink into the background and manipulate things from the shadows so that you don't cause more harm than benefit and you grow tired of fighting weaklings so you amuse yourself by sending others to do it for you and watching. Just look at what happened when overpowered beings did try to meddle around too much (Dark Disaster, Fall of Netheril, Time of Troubles, Dawn Cataclysm, etc) |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin01-06-08, 06:51 PM | In FRCS(pg 7.) states: "The strongest of Mystra's Chosen rarely moves directly against his foes, prefering to work through younger and more vigorous heroes." Correct again! |
| Ody_Saraph_of_Karsus01-06-08, 07:10 PM | Correct again! :bravo: Thank you:embarrass |
| Old Sage01-06-08, 07:38 PM | Why isn't Elminster invloved in the Twilight War series?Consider the fact that as of Nightal 1374 DR, Elminster has disappeared from the Realms -- as per Shadowdale: The Scouring of the Land. Shadowbred begins in Eleint 1374 DR, leaving little time for the Sage of Shadowdale to have much impact upon the events of the "Twilight War" trilogy. |

| Warning01-07-08, 03:59 PM | What fun would that be in Elminster just showed up and wtfpwnd the bad guys all the time? But in all seriousness, knowing him he's probably at the local Hooters. Who says he would pwn them? The entire shade enclave? Elminster would have to be on some powerful mind dust to mess up his judgement that bad. I'm sure "Most high" alone would pose as a challenge. Rivalen is nearly a chosen of shar, and he doesn't want to mess with his father. Volmux as we already discussed could probally beat Elminster, he could take down the whole shade enclave and help deafeat shar also? He is not too powerful to be invloved in this situation. There are characters greater than him in the Twilight war series. |
| Rauric01-07-08, 04:12 PM | Ok, hes so powerful, he refuses to help the world and just let's it go to crap. Great hero you got there Ed Greenwood. He is not a hero as much as a protector of Magic. At least I think that is Ed's idea for him. Anyway I think he is recovering from his trip to the Nine Hells. |
