I've heard talk on these boards about the setting being advanced by 10 to 100 years and characters being killed off and it has me shivering all over and sobbing a little too... |
| Zanan09-20-07, 04:15 AM | Essentially, we have no clue about what the 4E will look like, though designers have suggested that converting 3E/RE characters is not that good an idea. That is all in the open though. As for Realms as such, essentially no setting is really hinged on game rules. You can still use AD&D material in 3RE, as background info hardly matters when it comes to throwing dice amd vice versa - if you use some common sense. The Realms will be moved - as it looks - to 1385 and the time near/after the Spellplague, so the 4E can start with a changed Realms setting as well. Do note that people are trying to put together a puzzle that has not yet been finished, so do not expect any correct answer. |

I'd doubt that they just shed 100 years, especially as we know all the names for those years. So 10 years it is, methinks. |

Oopsy, I guess I dont agree with you then Zanan.;) I really dont know what I was thinking. But hey, you never know they could have a chapter continuing from 1385DR to 1485DR. Maybe 1453DR? 1428DR? 1399DR? 1385DR?:P If I remember right they said that the FRCS was only going to have fluff in it anyways. That the crunch was going to be in the next PGtF, whenever that comes out?:waits: |
| Zanan09-21-07, 04:29 AM | I could be mistaken here, but the 100 years stuff comes from the intro of The Orc King, when Drizzt (hey, he's got a reasonable age for an elf by then ... but it also means he survives that long :eek: ) speaks about the "last hundred" years in retrospective. Apparently people assume that the Realms will be brought forward to that age, which I doubt. Heck, in Shadowbred the Sharran high priest speaks of a possible "end of days" for all Faerūn in 1000 years, so there ... |
