Crazy drow and his feminent side:heehee Then again, Artemis plays a flute and Wulfgar is emo and Jarlaxelle has blonde hair now. Regis is just pure usless and should die off sometimes soon so I don't have to waste my life reading about him (I don't skip pages that's why). But when he had that spear stuck in him and the Drow saved him by using Lolth's healing powers, I lost all hope. It never stops amazing me how Ras keeps everyone alive. Hell, Wulfgar came back to life. I know I don't know this DnD stat stuff, but does weapons add on to it? Cuz from what I can tell, Artemis with Charons claw and his gauntlet(not that the gauntlet would help vs drizzt), are better than Drizzt weapons. Yet I know the next time they fight: A)Drizzt wins B)It's an even fight that gets intrupted C) They become allies since Artemis has gotten soft post Road of the Patriarch

Regis is just pure usless and should die off sometimes soon 1) keeping a journal is not feminine, nor is being an introspective character. 2) jarlaxelle is bald, not blonde 3) just cause you don't like Regis, dons't make him a useless character. Regis pretty much kept Mithril Hall running while Breunor was in a coma durring the majority of the war with Olbould. Oh, and the stats of both Drizzt and Artemis are in the FRCS book, though thats probally very out of date and dosen't reflect the characters as they are currently in the novels.

dethmetal 01-11-08, 09:50 AM	Not really, Drizzt spent alot of his youth in the Drow warrior academy, while Artemis was out adventureing at a young age, in comparison he started gaining experience alot earlier in life.

I claimed that it makes sense that Artemis would be a higher level. Drizzt for most of his adolecence was a page for house do'urden and then was a squire for his father. In comparison Artemis spent his youth as a thug on the streets of Calimport, He was out and adventureing, gaining experience as a much earlier age then drizzt was in comparison. Keep in mind elves being much longer lifespan then humans, develop much more slowly then humans. Then Drizzt goes to the fighters academy, and spends the next 20-50 years there (estimate) gaining a few levels in fighter.(lets call this drizzt's early 20's if he were a human.) In comparison Artemis, in his early 20's was most likely allready an unskilled assassian for Pasha Pook in Calimport, and probally well on his way to getting his first multiclass from thief to fighter. Drizzt didn't really start adventuring until he had left Menzo as an outcast. Atemis's life is spent in constant battle/adventurering/questing/out doing stuff. Drizzt's life is marked by large peirods of downtime...being a page/squire/student/outcast/ranger. given that it makes perfect sense to me that Artemis is a few levels higher then Drizzt.

Maybe if Artemis will live to 300 years maybe he will keep develops faster than an elf does. He will has be more experianced than Drizzt because he human. But Drow deveop slower than human and it why he his two levels beind Artemis. But the two are ones of the most agile mans of there respective race. I think Salvatore make Artemis the nemesis of Drizzt. One good one evil. One who wanted to be the best and the other forced to be the best.

Acording to the rules drow level slower then other races because of the extra racial benifits they get. ECL or whatever it's called. As ussual i don't have my books with me when the fancy to post strikes me to look up and confirm my ramblings.

The pages in question are Road of the Patriarch, pg. 300 - 305, where the Dragon sisters fly Athrogate, Entreri and Jarlaxle to Memnon. Jarlaxle is not mentioned as having blonde hair. The only mention of blonde hair is in regards to Ilnezhara. Except at that moment, Ilnezhara reverted to her Human form, and bade her sister to do likewise. "In case the island has visitors," the blonde haired woman explained, though Taznikella;s look as she came out of her natural form showed that she understood Ilnezhara's ulterior motives all too well, particularly when Ilnezhara shot Jarlaxle a rather lawed wink.
