I was wondering if anyone got a complete list of the temples on the sword coast and the north ?

why are there so few temples (for examples, it seems there are only 3 temples in neverwinter)

I suggest you take a look through this helpful listing at Candlekeep that I'm presently updating:- http://www.candlekeep.com/library/articles/temples.htm

Candlekeep is the place to for that info, unless you have Volo's Guide to the North thats lists all that stuff as well.

It says Neverwinter as a city encourages temples to be built there, but only 3 are listed to Oghma, Tyr, and ...for some reason, I can't recall the other... Oh well.

Wouldn't it make sense for any relatively large city (15000+) to have more than 3 temples. I would think at least 5 or 6 for that populace.

neverwinter is definitly a Tyr town - the temple there near the palace was a key part of the town in the game.

isn't there a monastery to Helm just outside of Neverwinter?

Helm's Hold, yeah, a bit east of the city. Mentions gardens sacred to Sune in Neverwinter as well, think the third temple there was to Lathander... might be confusing that from NWN2 though.
