| Kantor Brightblade06-16-07, 12:17 PM | It's gotta happen. The ones we know and love.....loathe...whatever. All have to meet the maker and kick her bucket. So, call your shot people. No entries of characters you simply don't like. That would take way too many pages. Post all the names of the Characters who are most likely not to live the next Orc invasion - Fireball - Tavern Brawl Let us make this awesome! :cheer:  :cheer:  :schemes:  :king: :plotting: :duel: |
| Kantor Brightblade06-16-07, 05:06 PM | So, of all the viewers...no one has any comments on who they think will be snuffed out? Ok. I'll kick start it... ...With the Deaths* of The Blackstaff and Halaster...two major characters in the realms. Who else could concievably be taken down? (*all deaths subject to change. Results not typical. Consult your physician if deaths last longer than 4 hours.) Elminster? Surely not..Drizzt? Heck no... ...I do think that another MAJOR character could recieve the Sopranos-style whacking... .....Fzoul Chembryl Chosen of Bane.... Come on folks....someone else HAS to die. Throw a name out there! |
| Esnapand06-16-07, 05:56 PM | Well, as much as I wish for Erevis Cale to finally die and never return again, I really think he might live some days longer... damn. I think one of Drizzt's gang must die sooner or later, with all these orcs around, especially after Wulfgar's funny little trip to Tempus' halls... I guess Cattie-brie would be too dramatic. Maybe Wulfgar again? Seems much more plausible than Bruenor Battlehammer. So I name Wulfgar. Or Galaeron Nihmedu. I just can't believe that the Shadovar will let him go that easily. But I don't think Fzoul will be the next. He survived Bane's death and Cyric's "rule". This guy seems to be invincible o_O |
| Krash06-16-07, 07:49 PM | Myrkul's embrace takes some avoiding in the next couple of months.;) -- George Krashos |
| Karsus the Mad06-16-07, 08:22 PM | I'd wager that Orvan, an unknown farmer from a homestead noone has ever heard of, somewhere in the Heartlands, will die pretty soon if he can't make the harvest. |
| MerrikCale06-16-07, 11:23 PM | I vote for all of Mystra's chose, particularly the Seven Sisters and El....at least thats what I'm hoping for |
| Drew1369r06-17-07, 01:08 AM | Thats a very tough question. I feel Gromph should be the next one whacked... his time is over. |
| Red_Wizard06-17-07, 01:34 AM | Lets super heat the core of Toril, and then have Ao power drive it into the sun for fun before it completely colapses in upon itself. Then, the non-existant Ebberron pantheon can come on over, have a tea party, get wasted, burn down the great tree, TP Ao's car, and go hooting and hollaring off into the astral to play 'Tease the Chaos hound with captured souls'. Wheeee, that was fun  Seriously, this thread is just going to incite a bunch of prejudice towards hated characters for that person, people in return asking why someone picked who they did (coupling it most likely with why they shouldn't/ couldn't / won't/ can't die), and then all hell will break lose as people angrily defend their original statements. You want an opinion? Bad choice for a thread. |
| MarkusTay6306-17-07, 02:30 AM | You want an opinion? Bad choice for a thread. |
| souldnce906-17-07, 03:15 AM | It really is a bad choice for a thread. However, if you want my opinion the Open Lord of Waterdeep has outlived his usefulness. :P |
| XHereticX06-17-07, 11:27 AM | Everyone on Faerun, then I can remake it in my own vision, mwahahahahaha:cool: |
| creyzi4zb1206-17-07, 12:57 PM | Bruenor Battlehammer....any Dwarf king that's tough!! I hate dwarves. No wait. Good dwarf king, any battling dwarf king on the side of good. |
| Kantor Brightblade06-17-07, 01:37 PM | If it's such a bad choice for a thread? Why did you list your choices, then opine about how predjudicial it is? :teach: Excuse me, Mr. Kettle? Did Mr. Pot just call you black? But, that just goes to show that everyone is evil deep down. Might as well let it out. Besides, it can't be that bad considering 2 very famous characters are dead and gone. Simple postulation and theorizing would lead the casual observer to think there is more of a Realms Shakeup going on. Now, it can't start at the top...El won't die. Drizzt's contract isn't up for another 3 years. And he has a no trade clause as it is.... ..I could see any number of Mortals getting taken out. What about a cleaning of the Pantheons? Maybe Corellon and Gruumsh get it on again. Two men enter, one man leave. How about Bhaal or Myrkul come back, out of nowhere and tell Bane and Cyric their services are no longer needed? Could happen. Same Bat Time, Same Bat Channel.... |
| Red_Wizard06-17-07, 02:39 PM | If it's such a bad choice for a thread? Why did you list your choices, then opine about how predjudicial it is? :teach: Excuse me, Mr. Kettle? Did Mr. Pot just call you black? Weeeelllll, if it wasn't obvious I can explain to you that it was sarcasm. Hope that clears everything up. I am not saying anyone didn't die, only that a thread asking who should, or who we think will die is bound to end angrily. The point of speculation is irrelevant, and will almost always lead to fights on here. Anyone could die, most will probably live, and guessing won't be anything more than just that. Nothing has suggested any more deaths, so there is nothing for anyone to make real suggestions for. This then boils down to people picking who they hate, and that sparks flaming on all sides. So as I said, bad idea for a thread. |
| Lord Karsus06-17-07, 06:45 PM | I'd wager that Orvan, an unknown farmer from a homestead noone has ever heard of, somewhere in the Heartlands, will die pretty soon if he can't make the harvest. -Poor, poor Orvan. I/We knew him well... Everyone on Faerun, then I can remake it in my own vision, mwahahahahaha:cool: :ahem: :waits: |
| Dark Wizard06-17-07, 07:05 PM | When I first read the title of this thread, I thought this was going to present an FR version of the comics character Dead Pool. Interestingly, I think the character refuses to do crossovers in the DC-verse because another character there is eerily similar to him (Deathstroke the Terminator, I believe). Who knows, maybe he's unknowingly an eternal champion... |
| xanthor06-17-07, 07:20 PM | I would like to see Szass Tam, the Lich Zulkir of Necromancy, to die.....ok bad choice of words. Re-die? Cross Over Un-Die Re-Live? We need a chart. lol But honestly I would like Szass to be unbound from his phylactary. With him gone there could be a massive revolt in the Red Wizards that could leave a lasting effect on the Realm. Other then Szass, perhaps having Blackstaff perishing in an epic battle to protect the gate to the elven island would be outstanding. |
| Lord Karsus06-17-07, 07:30 PM | Other then Szass, perhaps having Blackstaff perishing in an epic battle to protect the gate to the elven island would be outstanding. :shifty: -Um, Khelben is already dead. See the novel, Blackstaff. When I first read the title of this thread, I thought this was going to present an FR version of the comics character Dead Pool. -Deadpool is an interesting dude. |
| Kantor Brightblade06-17-07, 07:59 PM | Since you brought it up.... ...what would Deadpool be like in the realms? His manner of hilarity, whilst killing indiscriminantly is unmatched in FR as far as I know. ...isn't he still tag teamed with Cable? It's been a good long while since I've picked up a comic. |
| Lord Karsus06-18-07, 12:17 AM | Since you brought it up.... ...what would Deadpool be like in the realms? His manner of hilarity, whilst killing indiscriminantly is unmatched in FR as far as I know. -Some kind of twisted, twisted version of Danillo Thann and Sharrupak (Sp?). ...isn't he still tag teamed with Cable? It's been a good long while since I've picked up a comic. -The two are still genetically..."connected", but they aren't getting along at the moment. |
| The_Wrath_of_Talos06-18-07, 05:03 PM | Alustrial needs to die. I'm sick of hearing her spoken of as a Demi God. |
| RisnDevil06-18-07, 06:27 PM | Forgive me for missing it, but when did Halastar die? Thanks, RisnDevil |
| XHereticX06-18-07, 06:54 PM | Alustrial needs to die. I'm sick of hearing her spoken of as a Demi God. Nah, that title goes to the Simbul, though I don't want her to die (despite everything she has done to defy the laws of nature, she is still one of my favorite characters) |
| souldnce906-18-07, 07:34 PM | Halaster is DEAD? OOOHHH you jerk. Thanks for the spoiler!!!! No just kidding, I already knew. However!!!! Didn't they say in the City of Splendors source book that Halaster was killed by the skulls of Skullport, but now a clone is running around? Anyway the point is how do we know that he is dead? :P |
| MerrikCale06-18-07, 09:33 PM | Halaster is DEAD? OOOHHH you jerk. Thanks for the spoiler!!!! No just kidding, I already knew. However!!!! Didn't they say in the City of Splendors source book that Halaster was killed by the skulls of Skullport, but now a clone is running around? Anyway the point is how do we know that he is dead? :P he apparently dies as part of the new adventure |
| Skeptic06-19-07, 12:24 AM | I bet on the old El. |
| souldnce906-19-07, 12:53 AM | 50 Gold that he will come back after a few months!!!!!!! |
| MarkusTay6306-19-07, 01:12 AM | He should die and come back as the God of Wild Magic, and go back to living in Undermountain (in other words, turn him into Zagyg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zagyg)). ;) Blackstaff should also make it back as an Elven deity of subterfuge. :D |
| The_Shaman06-19-07, 07:08 AM | Well, if he can pass masquerading as an elf in front of the Seldarine, he might just get it. Corellon and the gang aren't as empty-headed as they sometimes seem. |
| The_Wrath_of_Talos06-19-07, 01:24 PM | Halaster is DEAD? OOOHHH you jerk. Thanks for the spoiler!!!! No just kidding, I already knew. However!!!! Didn't they say in the City of Splendors source book that Halaster was killed by the skulls of Skullport, but now a clone is running around? Anyway the point is how do we know that he is dead? :P With as many clones as Halaster has I wouldn't doubt his return, if not multiple Halaster's poping outta Undermountain. He has to have just as many clones as Manshoon. |
| King_Neckchopper06-19-07, 02:57 PM | [QUOTE=Lord Karsus;12764780]-Some kind of twisted, twisted version of Danillo Thann and Sharrupak (Sp?).QUOTE] I think you hit that one right on the money! |
| King_Neckchopper06-19-07, 03:05 PM | Did Halaster die in one of the El goes to hell books? I thought I remember mystra sending him there to save El? I would like to see Sazz Tam become sent(FFX). I would like to see Drizzt die at the hands of Artemis. I would love to see Malik El Nasseem Kill Galeron (sp?) What happened to the seraph of lies anyway? |
| Lord Karsus06-19-07, 03:15 PM | Did Halaster die in one of the El goes to hell books? I thought I remember mystra sending him there to save El? -He didn't die, thought I believe you are correct- he was sent to aid Elminster in escaping. What happened to the seraph of lies anyway? -He's out there, doing what he does best- telling the truth. |
| Jhiroth06-19-07, 10:07 PM | Myrkul's embrace takes some avoiding in the next couple of months.;) -- George Krashos Damn you for making me budget a much larger amount of cash for upcoming releases :D |
| souldnce906-19-07, 10:09 PM | What book is the spell Clone in anyway? If it is a spell, actually I only of read about it in passing. I'm interested because I am making either a Sun Elf wizard or a Moon Elf Sorceress, and I'd like to know that spell at some point. Oh and what school is it in? er....... nevermind! I found it. I was never known for patience. Oh well. Go ahead, berate me! I am prepared for the onslaught! uhg *says to herself under her breath, "geeze you're so stupid sometimes."* |
| dutch20606-19-07, 11:26 PM | I just finished reading War of the Spider Queen, book 6. Therefore, I'm going to guess that the next person to die will be Drizz't Do'Urden, at the hands of the Handmaiden of Lolth. FYI--Halaster gets whacked by the Liches of the Twisted Rune Cabal. |
| Lord_Madrigan06-20-07, 12:57 AM | It seems that there Whacking a lot of upper end NPC's Khelben the Blackstaff Elminster? Storm silverhand? [see events of Elminsters Death] Sylune Silverhand? [see events of Elminsters Death] Halaster? [the jurys still out on this one] Sammaster? [I think he's Permanatly Dead] Maybe there Killing of the High powered Uber NPC's to make room For more Average Powered Mortal Heros of the Realms. |
| msatran06-20-07, 03:53 AM | I think that they'll never whack Alustriel. Alustriel is neat. I also think they'll never whack the Simbul. Fzoul is meant to be a threat that exists until PC's deal with it. I think Zass Tam is next on the list. Reading Unclean seems to indicate to me that sometime soon, he's kicking the bucket. |
| Lykor06-20-07, 10:07 AM | That is not dead which can cast Clone And through strange aeons Halaster will own |
| Alediran06-20-07, 10:27 AM | That is not dead which can cast Clone And through strange aeons Halaster will own :rofl::rofl::rofl: Personally I'll bet for no more deaths (unless they are as good as Blackstaff's), in one way or another I like all characters of the Realms. |
| msatran06-20-07, 12:38 PM | I am inclined to disagree. The thing I find really annoying about this trilogy of adventures they're producing is that unless you actually KILL Storm Silverhand outright (Which they won't do because cheesecake sells, and quite frankly, I'm a fan of tall platinum blonde cheesecake), there is nothing to prevent other high level adventurers in the area from simply storming the castle. If my PC's heard about this (And their information time would be about 3 days tops), Shadowdale would be under assault by a group of 23rd-25th level PC's. If I run it, I'm going to have to concoct a really insane story that makes sure there's no information lag time, or the PC's will arrive and I'll just tell them "Bob is dead. There's barely enough left of him that he could be considered a corpse. Oh, that priest of shar? Well, he USED to have a head." The problems with running a living world like this are that PC actions are not always taken into account. I am actually thinking of adding to the defenses something about "Barrier of Legends" where the epic spell that they cast to do this actually prevents anyone of legendary status from entering the town. So if you're level 11+, or someone else's hero, you can't go in. Insane, but it's the only solution I can think of. |
| XHereticX06-20-07, 01:04 PM | Well, if he can pass masquerading as an elf in front of the Seldarine, he might just get it. Corellon and the gang aren't as empty-headed as they sometimes seem. Isn't Shoon VI masquerading as an elf right now? Nah, they woudn't whack Tam, he is too cool and clever for that. They can't and would never whack the Simbul. Halaster might pull a Manshoon type thing and come back, since one of the clones is dwelling with him after all and might have let out on the secret. |
| captaincarot06-20-07, 01:33 PM | With as many clones as Halaster has I wouldn't doubt his return, if not multiple Halaster's poping outta Undermountain. He has to have just as many clones as Manshoon. he he now that would be fun 50 halasters running round loose and all as mad as a box of frogs! :dancin::bounce: |
| Esnapand06-20-07, 05:29 PM | I remember a scene from Bioware's Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark where you encounter Halaster and one of his clones and they couldn't decide which one was the real one. And they always spoke in rhymes and it just made me mad. And now imagine 50 Halasters running around, speaking in rhymes and arguing over who is the real one? Complete madness. |
| Lord Karsus06-20-07, 06:15 PM | Isn't Shoon VI masquerading as an elf right now? -Not as much masquerading as much as he's trapped in the body of an Elven woman. |
| XHereticX06-20-07, 07:42 PM | I remember a scene from Bioware's Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark where you encounter Halaster and one of his clones and they couldn't decide which one was the real one. And they always spoke in rhymes and it just made me mad. And now imagine 50 Halasters running around, speaking in rhymes and arguing over who is the real one? Complete madness. Fun, fun, fun...;) Then again, Halaster being the insane genius he is needs to talk to himself right? Its an evil genius thing, Dr.Evil has Mini-me, as I recall Dr.Doom had clones, and there are 3 parts of Karsus(at least on this forum, still don't know who the third is though). |
| GothicDan06-20-07, 07:56 PM | Szass Tam has always been one of my favorite characters. I really hope he doesn't die in yet another one of WotC's "We're going to kill another Epic level character today as if his presence didn't help make part of the Realms what it is." |
| Karsus the Mad06-20-07, 08:00 PM | Szass Tam has always been one of my favorite characters. I really hope he doesn't die in yet another one of WotC's "We're going to kill another Epic level character today as if his presence didn't help make part of the Realms what it is." Or hinder the Realms from being what they could be!:P Nah. I agree. Other than Khelben (whom I love dearly...RIP) I'm really ****** off at the sudden deaths of iconics. For me at least, they're iconic because they matter. |
| Dark Wizard06-20-07, 08:39 PM | What's funny is that they seem to be killing all the cool epic iconics, ones with very unpredictable or ambiguous goals and morality, ones who could be useful even to gaming. They haven't definitively, outright killed off the iconics that many people seem to complain about the most. |
| XHereticX06-20-07, 08:46 PM | What's funny is that they seem to be killing all the cool epic iconics, ones with very unpredictable or ambiguous goals and morality, ones who could be useful even to gaming. They haven't definitively, outright killed off the iconics that many people seem to complain about the most. what we have to wonder is what the motives of the people currently running WoTC are and how their new moves with this setting pertain to decisions in the future. As for complaining, the characters that are "most complained" about are only seen as such through the narrow scope of forum regulars that actually voice their opinions. WoTC human resources may have very different data based on their far more broad range of information that is higher in accuracy. |
| Lord Karsus06-20-07, 10:58 PM | ...and there are 3 parts of Karsus(at least on this forum, still don't know who the third is though). -My/Our third brother is still missing. I'm/He's out there, somewhere... |
| MerrikCale06-20-07, 11:06 PM | I bet on the old El. that would be so cool |
| MerrikCale06-20-07, 11:08 PM | -My/Our third brother is still missing. I'm/He's out there, somewhere... Perhaps he/you/she/it/them/whatever has gone over to the dark side |
| XHereticX06-20-07, 11:17 PM | Perhaps he/you/she/it/them/whatever has gone over to the dark side yesss, come to the dark side, we have cookies;) |
| MerrikCale06-20-07, 11:19 PM | yesss, come to the dark side, we have cookies;) hey, GothicDan, we're talking about cookies again |
| Lord Karsus06-20-07, 11:38 PM | -He still never made those chocolate oatmeal white chocolate chip cookies yet. Bummer...:( |
| GothicDan06-21-07, 12:14 AM | I did. You ate them already. |
| Lord Karsus06-21-07, 12:16 AM | -Sadly, no I didn't. You can, however, make another batch, and mail 'em to me, or something. I can always throw 'em in the microwave if they get a little stale, or whatever. |
| souldnce906-21-07, 03:52 AM | I want cookies! :( Hey I say kill off the old to make room for the new! Also would give me room to get away with bigger stuff. :plotting: |
| Mordakay of Thay06-21-07, 03:56 AM | I hope a Zulkir does, so i can take his place.See this picture? It was take on Thay mount, for publicity when i will be Zulkir ;). |
| Mordakay of Thay06-21-07, 04:00 AM | Perhaps he/you/she/it/them/whatever has gone over to the dark side 2 bad in Faerun ,nothings is so simple as white or black :P |
| Lord Karsus06-21-07, 06:22 PM | 2 bad in Faerun ,nothings is so simple as white or black :P -Nothing, anywhere is as simple as black and white. The less intelligent you are, the more things seem black and white, but intelligence adds "hidden layers" of intrigue. |
| XHereticX06-21-07, 06:48 PM | 2 bad in Faerun ,nothings is so simple as white or black :P Hmm, as I recall, Chultans were black, and waterhavians were white, am I correct:D |
| Nisstyrethegreat06-23-07, 04:17 PM | when was blackstaff pretending to be ans elf and why can't he be another demigod in the human pantheon. he is only a little bit elf, i thinks. but thwe halaster idea is awesome. |
| Lord Karsus06-23-07, 06:09 PM | when was blackstaff pretending to be ans elf...he is only a little bit elf, i thinks. -Khelben was one-quarter Elf. |
