| silentmaster10107-11-07, 06:49 PM | I am looking for either a table or map of specific trade in faerun, anyone know of anything like it? the FRCS isnt too specific and characters in my campain want to create a trade guild and trade things for profit (and to defend caravans) can anyone point me in the right direction? |
| Slayergnome07-11-07, 07:01 PM | What regions of Toril? |
| Faraer07-11-07, 07:16 PM | Beyond the map in the FRCS, regional sourcebooks have more detailed local pictures. Read Power of Faerūn for guidance on running a mercantile campaign, and Hand of Fire for the best depiction of caravan life. |
| dragonheart07-12-07, 08:05 AM | its set up to be fairly vague so a DM can insert and run things as they see fit. there are established costers and hidden monopolistic groups in different areas and ongoing constant struggles between trade factions. So feel free to set up your own schemes for the players working from the resources in the FRCS and the (often 2e) regional/local source materials (check out the VOlos guides and 2e free downloads of regional settings). Another good book to read to see how a mideval trading caravan works is Louis L'amour's Walking Drum set in Europe and the Mideast around 1100 AD. |
| silentmaster10107-12-07, 09:25 AM | well i have power of faerun and all, but i was looking more for like a what goods are purchased in what city, as FRCS is vague on that, it lists imports and exports and stuff, but no average prices for anything. i guess what i am looking for is more like a list of common prices for things such as iron, glass, coal, and other commodities. |
