And of course, there are tons of older sources--you can try to get your hands on the 2E Seven Sisters sourcebook, or Secrets of the Magister. Then there are all of Greenwood's stories that involve the Chosen.:)

Alleran 03-14-08, 11:16 PM	It's in the FRCS, but here's a summary. +10 CON. Immunity from one spell from levels 1-9. Spell-like ability once per day for one spell from levels 1-9. Detect Magic (line of sight range). Immunity to aging, disease, disintegration, poison. No need of sleep (though they must rest in order to prepare spells). They also get silver fire, which can be used for various things. The template adds +4 CR. Ed Greenwood's books list other powers and abilities that the Chosen possess, and he's also elaborated on it at Candlekeep. Some of the other (non-represented) abilities are: Can expend silver fire to use spells in dead magic zones. Can stabilise spells in dead magic zones by expending extra spell power Sense movements, build-ups, and changes in magic in wild magic zones with greater degrees of ability than non-Chosen. Non-blood of Mystra (as in, non-Seven Sister) Chosen suffer mental damage and deterioration in Mystra's service, especially when they "bleed" silver fire - so they're a bit insane. They have the inherent natural ability (so it would be Extraordinary, not Supernatural) to use silver fire to effect a shapechange on their bodies (an alter self spell in effect, I would presume). They can use their arcane sigils in ways that "plain wizards" can't without special spells to imbue them as such (various - check Ed's replies for the full list). They know of the location of a Magefair before the normal "three mornings beforehand" rule. They're attuned to the Weave, so they can "step around" the wards of a Magefair or similar event. They can die as mortals, and be destroyed, but they can become like Sylune and Shandril when that happens - turning into spirits of the Weave. They have rather good control of certain gems in gem-based magic. They can (through the Weave) consult with Mystra, Azuth, and all of Mystra's servants, calling on almost countless centuries of experience, but they dislike doing so, because it strips them of personal freedom and claws at what's left of their sanity. If they were so inclined, they could figure out how to manipulate the Weave in such a manner as to call forth spellfire (Elminster and several others have already done so) - and they can avoid being blown apart via teleportation spells in combination with spellfire and so on because they are in harmony with the Weave, balancing its energies around them. As to how she chooses a new Chosen, it depends. Elminster: Making of a Mage is where he first became a Chosen, and the Blackstaff novel IIRC contains the scene where Khelben became one as well.
