Hi, I was reading some of my old 2nd edition books, and I was wondering where Presper is. There is the Mistkeep located there, and I was thinking of DM'ing an adventure hook based on a "Cult to resurrect Leira" sort of thing, and her largest "Temple" is there. When I scour my 3rd edition books, I cannot even find where the city is located. Am I missing something? Help!!

I believe Presper is a powerful mage who fought several goblinoid hordes in the North as a member of the Covenant several hundred years before present FR (after the year of the Covenant . He sacrificed himself and several others (Agnazzar, Grimwald) at his last mission. Supposedly they remain somewhere on the planes.

Do you mean Prespur? If so the Isle of Prespur is located south of Sembia, north of Turmish, and west of the Dragon Isle and Pirate Isles in the Sea of Fallen Stars. It is mostly abandoned now and desert like. There is a portal leading from Prespur (if you know the activation key) that can take you further south to the island of Tharsult which is located in the Shining Sea. If you don’t know the key I believe it takes you somewhere to the north, dropping you off somewhere near the Spine of the World / Icewind Dale.

The island was named after a Netherese Mage who claimed it after the fall of Netheril. He built a keep there, which is now in ruins, and subsequently disappeared without much trace.

If Presper and Grimwald survived their exodus from Faerūn into the planes (fleeing the aftermath of a wizardwar with Thay that presumably went poorly for their fellows) then it is likely they may have returned to Faerūn, and should be operating in the North, as leaders of the newly reformed Covenant, or barring that at least advisers to whatever younger mages may have decided to reform the long quiescent organization.

Thanks for the replies!

I was reading in the 2E Faiths and Avatars book under Leira. Under the Major Centers of Worship subsection, they mention the largest temple is the Mistkeep in Presper, run by some gnome named Duldinbold Alarkyn.

I am thinking that the 2E happened quite some time ago, so the link to the Island gate would be where it was/is in present.

I appreciate the help.

They have tasked him with re-forming the Covenant and he is looking to recruit mages accordingly.

Good!

So I'm hoping this means we're set to learn a little more about Savengriff's current efforts?
